Was Carlos Llamosa's career worthy of induction for the Hall of Fame. Were the 29 games he played for the Nats good enough? Was his MLS career good enough? Was he good enough to get into a fictional "MLS Hall of fame?" Did he miss too many games over his career?

I beleive he gets into to both HOFs. In MLS he was always on a great team, and was key to a great defense. He was on four MLS cup teams along with two semi-finalist teams. Had four all-star caliber seasons in my opinion (1998, 1999, 2001, 2003). Started 23 of his 29 caps. Team had an 18-6-5 record in his 29 caps. Was the national team's best defender 2000-2001. Would be a lock if he was discovered before earlier. Played on legendary 2002 World Cup squad, and provided leadership. Played on 1999 Bronze Confederation's Cup team. Only knock is lack of scoring even for a defender and lack of games in MLS and for USMNT.

Please move this to the main D.C. United forum. Sorry, my mistake, thankyou.

This was moved to this forum from the main D.C. board? Is this a board about the discussion of past players or something?

This board is for discussing all former United players. It's in the appropriate place.

I think Carlos should get a HOF nod, but maybe not just yet (he's still theoretically playing).

When this thread is done hear can it be moved so I can see what Revs fans think?

And, I think his MLS days are over. He's 36, hasn't played in two years, injured, and wasn't signed by D.C. United.

You'll need to start a new poll in the revs section, but ask those mods first.

I believe that, right now, only 3 players can get into the HOF per year - and that includes women as well as men. So even though I love what Carlos brought to DC's defense I doubt he'd be viewed highly enough by most voters to get into the Hall of Fame.

Look at some of the players that didn't get voted in this year and you will see some names that are probably more highly regarded than Carlos:

So, with the increasing quality of HOF-eligible former players, I doubt he'll make it in.

But, looking at the list, I he should get more votes than Mario Gori and Geoff Aunger.

Godspeed, Carlos Llamosa, and best of luck in whatever you set your sights upon.
