What is his current status I know he is on loan to West Brom..
Should he be recalled to United and do you want him back.
He was quite impresive today against the USA as was
Wes Brown....We need all the good young talent we
can get...

Chill out Gal, he's back with us. But if Fergie decides Richardson doesn't fit in he might loan him back to West Brom next season.

You can put Richardson in the first team, and loan us Giggs! :D
Er, nevermind. ;)

Wes Brown was actually quite crap... ugh... Richardson tried to do a bit much at times... but he really impressed all the same... he will be back with us.

Is it true that he requested a new contract...and to play against Eddie Pope every game? :D

Well, it was a well-taken free kick for the first, as well as a quality finish for the second, albeit not the hardest one in the world. He looked mostly solid out there, especially considering it was his very first cap. Thought he showed a good mix of speed and passing ability, though I'd like to see him take on defenders more often.
I was at the game, and had great seats in the first row behind goal. Phil Neville and Jermain Defoe were warming up about 10 yards from us for much of the game. Oh and during the first half, we made sure to give plenty of abuse to David James. :)

He did not see enough of the ball for my liking and he was mostly good with it... did not gift possesion away, but like you said, he seemed to lack an edge. It was probably nerves, him not wanting to mess up... although that volley he tried was audacious.
What impressed me was his willingness to play defence and the committment he went into tackles with. Reminds me of another winger.

what really surprised me was his work-rate and tenacity, i dont think ive seen him play like that (in a team sense) since he first broke through into the first team, and also, the amount of pace he has, he seems faster than ronaldo! if he can continue to grow and mature, and make sure that his head is not turned, he will become a quality player. hopefully fulfill that potential which saw him rated higher than Stuart Downing, when they were Youth players.
he also he seems two-footed, with a fair few tricks - remind you of a certain winger??
the attacking options next year certainly look promising...

Well he will be given a chance in August and Sept to show what he has to offer to United but it is up to him to take that chance and remain a United player for the whole season. Yes he did score two goals for England yesterday but I doubt that he will be in Sven's plans once all the big names are available to him. And at United he has to convince SAF that he can be consistent enough in a tough league in order to become a first team regular.
So far he has not done that for us even though he did help WBA avoid the drop.

He's very quick, but he's not faster than Ronaldo, he was just playing against Americans...

I watched the game yesterday, and I was impressed by Richardson in that he scored two goals in his (senior) international debut. A lot of people are making it seem, though, like he is the answer to our problems, while I think some of the youths in our reserves (Jones, Rossi, Eagles) right now are at a higher level than Richardson. Richardson is getting his chance to fly, but lets not get carried away here. I've seen him play at West Brom, never on the left wing, and that is where we would desire he play, no? Also, his overall performance was not that great without those two goals, and I did see him give up possession. In fact, the whole team was giving away possession as if the ball was tainted with AIDS. Almost looked like there were 10 P Nevilles out there. He hardly made any leftwing runs, nor did I see any quality leftwing crosses which we are currently lacking, even with Giggs in the lineup. Not that I want to sound to down on the kid. He's definitely got potential, but right now I just see more potential in our reserves, and the fact that he has yet to prove that he is quality on the leftwing doesn't convince me that he should be on our team. Not just yet.

i wouldnt say eagles is at a higher level than richardson, eagles, i feel, is about a year away from sustained first team action.
i think richardson is good enough for a chance now, he's proved, in the last 6 months, that he has the mental strength, technique and ability to play for us, he almost single-handedly dragged WBA away from relegation, and scored 2 goals on his england debut. he certainly played better than smith - a crowd favourite.

All very valid points, and I've bee na huge Eagles fan for 2 years now... but he is a right winger, if you were responding directly to Johno.

I agree that he deserves his chance now, but his show for WBA is not as relevent as you want it to be for a couple of reasons. First, as I said earlier, his position at WBA was as a CM, whereas at United, he will most likely spend his time on the leftwing. We do not know what his strength, technique, nor ability can do for us against top opposition in the PremierLeague on the leftwing. That is fact. We just don't know if he is good enough there. Scoring two goals against a USA B-team just isn't that impressive. Second of all, there is a huge difference between being out there for a team on the verge of relegation and Manchester United. IMO, there is a lot more pressure playing for a team like United. We do not know whether Richardson has that composure, nor if he can be an asset to the team, attitude-wise. Once again, I agree with you that he deserves that chance to play, but whether he has proven that he is good enough to play for us is still very arguable.

he played on the left wing for england u-21s this season, and impressed...
might not be a good barometer, but it does show that he has it in him. hopefully he will get a chance, that is all.

Richardson is a decent left footed player. But no replacement for Giggsy.
