My mate told me that Man Utd are going to swap C. Ronaldo for Owen.

Is this a load of crap or is it true? Has anyone else heard anything about it? What do people think if it is true?

Personally i think it would be a bad move for Man utd. In my books C. Ronaldo is invaluable, his amazing now let alone what he could be in the future.

I have never really rated Owen that highly, only when he was 17. Defenders have learned how to cope with him. Give him a yard and you've got him every time. His career has been full of injury and it won't be long untill he gets another. The way that i see it Man Utd need to bring in players which are amazing and which stand out from other players C. Ronaldo is one of these Owen however is not. There are plenty of players that are the same sort of player as him, small and fast e.g Vassel.

It's obviouse that Man Utd are looking for a new striker after Ruud's season. But to me Owen is not the answer. Anyway all strikers have poor seasons and Owen only wishes he could be like Ruud. Give him another season fergie and he will be banging in the goals.

Erm I dont believe that for a minute and I think CRon is holding contract talks atm. That would be the dumbest move ever, so your 'mate' has issues.

I never heard Ronaldo for Owen. I did hear someone saying the rumor was Ruud for Owen. I wouldn't give up Ronaldo. Ruud, I would consider it, but probably wouldn't do it.

that would be a real dumb move, swapping a winger which were short of for a striker which we have plenty of.

Total crap, that rumour, not a chance C.ronaldo is going anywhere, especially for someone like owen. IMO him and rooney are the only for sure 'safe' players right now.

It's obviouse that Man Utd are looking for a new striker after Ruud's season.

What makes you think that? If actually looked at our season closely u would see that nearly all our strikers (except rooney) had awful seasons with injuries. They couldn't get a consistent run out. I think everyone on this board, and man u themselves would agree we will not be searching for a new striker this year. One may leave, another may be promoted at one point... ;) ......but i think we are just hopinh for a season of fit goal poachers.
