I'm going tonight, just wondering if you had any impressions, perhaps some of the stuff they've been playing lately.

Saw them last year, just after they canned their drummer...I was bored outta my skull and left about 2/3rds through.

I have, however, heard good things about their show and new songs, so hopefully you'll have a better time than I did.

I was smoking pot with the guys in their bus when they were writing "Dakota". So give em a cheer when they play that song. It was originally to be called "Vermillion" the town in SD (where I went to college and promoted a concert with them and Howie Day) where it was written but there are a couple other songs called Vermillion so the lads decided to call it "Dakota" instead. Maybe Tomorrow is a bad ass song live. Hopefully they'll play that for you.

I like a lot of the new CD, probably the most enjoyable Phonics disc since "Performance and Cocktails". I have a ton of their CD singles, because they do really cool b-sides (Dylan's "Positively 4th Street", Nirvana's "Something in the Way," Neil Young's "The Old Laughing Lady," Tragically Hip's "Fiddler's Green," Ewan MacColl's "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" and Michael D'Abo's "Handbags and Gladrags", just to name a few).

Glad they didn't call Dakota "Vermillion," especially since Slipknot uses that song title twice on their latest album. FWiW, the CD single for Dakota has an interesting remix of that track by Footswitch. I like that version of the song a little better.

Missed 'em in SF a couple weeks ago because I already had baseball tix. They never sell out here, not sure about the rest of the US. It's amazing that they have problems filling clubs and small halls here when they fill stadiums in other parts of the world.

Anybody sees 'em, I'd be interested in a set list.
