What in the name are you all thinking about, I would ask a question first :-Hands up those who think ( for the sake of an argument ) if Steve McClaren of Middlesbourough was given the Managers job, that we would finish at least third in the League, next season. I think were all in agreement he could at least do that yes ??.
I mean after the Norwich match I am shure Fergie is past his best, I remember to painfully in the 70,s when we went down to the Second Division because of klinging on to Old hero's for far to long, the Doc came along and we finished in the top 3 and in the Final of the FA Cup after getting promotion to the First Division. Now is the time for a change, Fergie has had a fantastic stay at Old Trafford, maybe move up to a Director position.
As for keeping Carroll my hope will sink if this plays out by start of the new season, we will have to wait. If Glazer buys the club I hope he can manage to pay Rio and other players more money, I agree with someone when they say " as one of the top clubs in Europe we have to move with the tide and if that means paying players more money to keep them, so be it"
Lastly if RVN goes we will still have Giggs, Rooney, Ronaldo, Smith, Saha, and Rossi to score goals, where is the problem, we have fiinished 3rd without RVN !!!!

I have to admit though, in the right mood, his threads can be pretty amusing.

PLEASE ban him Motterman. :)

lets look at his points:
1) mcclaren WOULD have finished 3rd at least this year, no one can doubt that
2) fergie is probably past his best: who hasnt thought that or doesnt think that after this years debacle of a season
3) carroll shouldnt stay on: anyone who thinks that carroll can hold the #1 shirt down is kidding themselves
4) glazer's ability to pay: the man has saddled the club with a 540m pound debt, i assume youre worried too about whether he will pay our top end talent to stay on or cut costs as much as possible
5) RVN sold off: this is the one point i can see you having issue with, the suggestion is preposterous if you look at RVNs record. give him health next year and watch the goals come flying back from him.

in short, i cant see why youd want to ban him based on a post that largely makes sense, unless im missing a bit of sarcasm in which case ignore this post :)

i would debate that mclaren would have finsihed 3rd with horrid season of injuries we had this year......i still am not convinced fergie is past his best....

i mean come on guys, i think we are demanding too much from a manager who was without the following players for large streches of the season

RvN (how many months was he gone now?)
20legend (the whole year...too bad)
Saha.....aka..'glass man' (did he even play this year? )
Kleberson....'turf finger' sure is a bitch... ;)
Rio (wasn't there at the crucial start to our season)
Heinze (away at some stupid international to begin)
Smith (missed a fair amount of games)
Rooney (wasn't there at the start either)
Giggs (multiple hamstring probs this year)
Fletcher (the worst timing of all, notice how we suddenly lost our winning streak when he went down)

all those guys had some real serious probs with injuries this past year...

here's to hoping for a few new signings next year and best of all a fit/healthy squad....

mhtwins113:

1 - Sorry, I dont see how anyone could know that McLaren would've clinched 3rd. This is a brash, unsupportable statement that I'm tired of hearing. To say that "no one could doubt that" is absurd - it is a hypothetical, that is based in absolutely no fact whatsoever.
2 - Past his best? No. It's been a tough season, granted, but to say he's past his best is again, brash. As it has been said - injuries, inconsistency, and poor finishing. McLaren wouldnt have changed that.
3 - Agreed - I'm disappointed he's staying.
4 - This confuses me - why do people think that Glazer is going to "cut costs" by selling off players? Why would he purchase a team, and then completely take it apart? Jeopardizing the performance of Man U would damage his business.
5 - Agreed again.

Anybody who agrees with Andrew Neave on any matter needs to do one of two things:

a) Drink the Kool Aid.
b) Decapitate themselves.
