Anyone else seen it? I took a date to it yesterday.

I actually liked the concept. But a few things kept me from really liking this particular movie.

It had about 5 too many characters, which kept you from really getting to know any of them. It linked them all together through a strange string of events, which was nice and done in a clever way. But some of the connections were uncalled for. It was like every single person that appeared on camera had to be linked to someone else by the end of the movie no matter how far fetched the link was. It used every racists stereotype imaginable, some of it being quite over the top and unneccesary.

I had a hard time believing Ryan Phillippe as a cop. Brenden Fraser as a DA was a stretch as well.

I went in wanting to like it a lot....but after it was over found myself thinking...it was just okay.
The concept was great....although it had been done to an extent in Short Cuts and even a bit in Magnolia. But in the end it all just seemed a bit too contrived.

Some good performances though by Don Cheadle and Thandie Newton especially.

Are you talking about the indie film, "Crash", that came out six or seven years ago? The one about the people who are turned on by car crashes and the injuries that result from them? That was one of the most freaky films I've ever seen. I had to walk out on it because I couldn't stomach the injuries.

Or is there a new movie by the same name?

New movie by the same name, it's got Julia Roberts in it.

New movie by the same name....not the Holly Hunter freakfest.
Although the title of the new movie does seem to derive from the ability (or lack thereof) of people driving in LA.

Sandra Bullock, not Julia Roberts.

New movie staring Bullock, Don Cheadle, Brenden Fraser, Ryan Phillippe, Matt Dillon..

I just saw the movie a few hours ago and thought it was really good. You guys don't live in Los Angeles and probably didn't get a feel for it like i did. Just about everything about that movie is somewhat true and represents la accuretly.

I believe Crash is California's equivillent of New York's movie 25th Hour.

The movie was boring at times and just hope it could of been more entertaining.
