So are the americans strong enough to defeat to CR?
CR goes to this game after playing a friendly game in Norway (tomorrow), after changing the coach a couple of months ago, and after losing a player (Whayne wilson, RIP) and without one of our best players (centeno)...
so i feel that the states can win this game, but I REFUSE to admit it, so i'll vote for CR and hope we win 0-1 at least!

When the top three teams in the region play all bets are off. Anything is possible. I hope to he!! the U.S. wins. I do appreciate Saprissa beating Pumas though.

Im not sure that not having Centeno for this game is a bad thing...I think we have better players than him...

With that said, I cannot wait for my trip to SLC...
Hope to see a lot of ticos and ticas (specially) at the stadium.

Since we're just starting a totally new process with a new (but known) coach, I still don't spect too much from Costa Rica.

But I do hope that they can manage to at least get a draw. And Centeno is a great player, but he's not like we depend on him. IMO, Alonso Solis has been playing hellofalot better lately.

First off congrats to Saprissa. Good luck in Japan.

I think the US will take it, but again, anything can happen.
The return match in CR will be a major challenge for the US though.

Agreed that the States takes this one in the States. Costa Rica is a bit of an unknown with the new coach. Alot depends on the health of a couple players for the States. Reyna is out for sure, he's taking the summer off. Pablo Mastroeni is a little banged up as well, but I think there's a chance he plays. John O'Brien returns to the pitch Saturday against England after recovering from a number of injuries and a long time without playing. We need some productive minutes from him. The main injury of course is DeMarcus Beasley. If he can't go then that is a bit troublesome. Personally, I think he suits up and starts, but he may not be up for the full 90. I suppose we will find out this week.

Thanks Mo. No Porres or G. Martinez? I find that surprising, is there something I don't know? I always thought Martinez was your best defender and I certainly have been impressed with Porres play for Saprissa this year.

Go to club Xscape or Northern Xposure in Downtown Salt Lake. You'll get your fill of ticas there for sure. ;)

GO USA!

I left Martinez out cause we need tall defenders cause the americans are good in the air game
Porras did have an excellent season, but Mesen has been there in the lst couple of years
I also left Luis Marin out, cause victor Cordero has been playing great with Saprissa and he had a good game against Norway

I don't know if I want Costa Rica to defeat US, for humiliation purposes...Or I truly believe that Costa Rica can get the result against US...

Either way, isn't that coach the same one Costa Rica had when they defeated Mexico in Azteca?

Costa Rica finished 1st in those World Cup Qualifiers with Alexandre Guimaraes, it must be interesting to see how he carries the Costa Rican team in this hex...
