I think Manchester United need to shake it up and bring in Figo asap!! He will bring a different dimension to the team. It will only help Ronaldo , Rooney, and Rudd to have such a player in there team. I think Scholes should be replaced with someone new. He really doesn't inpress me much!! But Figo would be Incredible!!! He would fill the hole left by Beckham when he departed!!!

I think Figo is more than talented enough to adapt to the Premiership style of play, as well as provide some much needed leadershp for our younger players, especially in Europe.
However, I have serious doubts whether he could survive a couple of months in the Premiership because of the unique physicality of the game in England, especially at his age.
I wouldn't be upset if we got him, but I wouldn't seriously inflate our weekly wage bill to entice him here either.....

If you mean on the bench, then yes, but he won't look as pretty as Becks did there...

I was just at the Portuguese Big Soccer boards and they said Figo has told close friends that he is leaving Real and coming to Old Trafford!!! I hope this is True!!! :D

Well, an Arsenal fan, I can only hope you spend the money to get Figo.
Look, both our teams are chasing a skilled, rich and young Chelsea team. Bringing in Figo, who is a talent, doesn't seem to fill a need, and he makes you older and squanders what cash you do have.

Well, he's on a free, but he would command a pretty hefty weekly wage.....
As for filling a need?
He can come on for just about anybody in the attacking half of the pitch and be productive...
Better option than Quinton Fortune, that's for sure.

And he can also take a very good FK...something we have sorely missed this season.
I've read some of the Portuguese comments about Figo...they reckon he'd thrive on the chance to prove Real wrong and also the challenge of a new league would be right up his street...sort of like a revenge mission - Figo strikes back! lol that'd be perfect for us if he came in and applied some attitude along with his skills.

Not to mention if Scholes suffers a loss of form out attack could look something like this...
------------------Ruud
Ronaldo---------------------------Figo
-----------------Rooney
with all three not named Ruud swapping positions and causing massive brain hemmoraghes (I know that's not right, but damnit i can't spell!) to defenders and coaches.

ManU should go after another Portuguese player, Joao Moutinho. He is a central midfielder. Liverpool are said to be very interested. He had a great season for Sporting Lisbon helping them reach the Uefa Final. He's only 18 but plays like he's much older. Great poise, confidence and excellent vision on the pitch. He's a versatile player that can play DM and can attack. Today he was awarded the years best CM of the Superliga....He would really help the aging ManU midfield.

I agree about Moutinho...Figo is too old, and would be a waste of cash (which we don't have much of...)

Figo would come on a free transfer...we would pay nothing but his wages and it's long overdue that Phil and co were sold to ease the strain.
I'm not sure Moutinho is a wise choice for such a thankless task in such a rough league as the EPL. He's v.good but he's also very frail. We already have lots of v.good, frail talents in the reserves just waiting for their shot at the 1st team.

It's usually a big oppurtunity to pick up a free transfer, no? Normally I'd say it's a bad idea, but without a transfer fee, why not?

why not, we obviously need more declining old players with massively inflated egos matched only by their massively inflated pay packets. sure, bring on figo...

1. Figo's ego is what drives him to perform. In a new country away from the galatico set-up he would have it all to do
2. What makes you think he's in decline?
3. 'more declining players' suggest we have already got some at the club...who would they be?
4. Figo wouldn't come cheap but he couldn't demand stellar wages. If he actually came here and performed like he can he'd be worth every penny.

Moutinho has a never say die attitude, he's very mentally tough and actually he's tougher physically than Deco .... I think he would be a good fit for ManU. and English fans would like his style.

A big concern i have is what kind of signing on bous would a figo demand, in addition to a hefty wage package????
could we really afford that out of our transfer budget??

Me thinks his name recognition will make him a waste of money, as he will demand too much.

Isn't Figo 56 years old? Do we really want to be the NY Rangers of the Premiership?
