With their previous financial troubles, has their been any rumors on their status for next season in the German papers?

When all the financial troubles started being made public they were in a relegation battle and there was talk if they were relegated they would not just drop to BL2, but a little further as they would not be able to obtain a license.

I know the WC is more in the news front but just curious if there is any talk.

Thanks in advance.

They are playing in the BL 2, but their budget is only 9 million euros. The moves they are making and the belt tightening it looks good for a quick return.

"It looks good for a quick return"?! Come on dude, thats sounds a lot like "theres no way that FCK is going down" to me...

Honestly, 2nd Bunesliga is going to have a very tough field next season:
Köln and Duisburg will wanna go right back up,
Fürth has been up there in the table for a while now, they wanna do the next step.
1860 and Rostock probably wont have such bad streaks again.
Freiburg and Karlsruh may have a word to say.
Plus there may always be one or two up there that nobody expected, such as Aue...

Now I havent really followed the signings so far, but Kaiserslautrn will definitely not have a team that is a favorite for promotion.
If thing dont develop unexpectedly well for them, they will have to keep an eye on the relegationzone rather than he promotionzone...

There's a clear pattern emerging for those teams bringing a Cdn into the team in the off-season:

Daniel Imhof - transfer from St. Gallen to VfL Bochum

Kevin McKenna - transfer from Hearts (Edinburgh) to Energie Cottbus

On that note, early prediction for promotion:

FC Kaiserslautern - new signing Josh Simpson from Millwall FC

and

1860 Munchen - with Nikolas Ledgerwood promoted from their reserves later last season.

That's right, if you want to gain promotion then you need a Canuck on your team!! ;)

I`m satisfied with Lautern`s signings so far. In my opinion only Köln with the Podolski millions have better cards for promotion. I`m not afraid of Duisburg, Freiburg etc... Lautern lost with Altintop and Lembi only two good players. The young talented players like Halfar, Schönheim, Fromlowitz, Reinert will stay.
I hope that Bouba Sanogo will also stay in Lautern. If that happens I bet he will be the top scorer in Bundesliga 2.

What do you think. Can Josh Simpson help us to get promoted? Did you follow his career in England? Greetings to canada, my favourite holiday location ;-)

He is a young player who, like many Cdn players, needs some polish. Has good speed and had some injury issues with Millwall. Hopefully with the more technical play in Germany, he will shine. I hope he does help you get promoted but we'll have to wait and see.
Cheers.

If this happened really the way it´s desribed in the article,
then it´s a scandal and there must be consecuences.

But curious is, that i could find nothing about it in the web
except this article.

I had to goto the 4th page to resurrect this thread.

Anywho...the Roten Teuflen are currently in 4th a point out. After reading some of the articles/comments I was worried they would not even make a run at getting promoted back to the Bundesliga.

Bro, I don't know where you've been getting your info, but Die Roten Teufel are having a solid season w/ some young playas. They are in 3rd at the moment 7 points from the top of the table. Geh mer nuff uff de Betzenberg zum 1 FCK, meine freund

Actually, their overall play has been pretty inconsistent.......
