View Full Version : D.J. Countess salutes north end supporters (5/21 vs. RSL)

Not sure if anyone else noticed this, but immediately after the final whistle blew last night vs. RSL, Countess half-turned towards section 137, clapped a few times, then gave a thumbs-up sign as he headed for the tunnel. I did not sense any sort of sarcasm or anger in his expressions. I believe he was truly applauding us for the strong support that we exhibited throughout the duration of the 90 minutes. Good to see that he has a sense of humor since we rather loudly made it through the pedofile chant with his name inserted during the 2nd half.
Nice work 137; that was by far the best supporters performance of the season so far.

137 was able to be heard in the parking lot as I was walking up late in the match.

Some of them were silent. I could also see you, a row up from me, nonchalantly humming along occasionally. Your friend did great on the drum, but we missed you in the second half. Your presence was inspiration to start a lot of chants, thanks for coming. ;)

I still did more than your little group of middle schoolers. Had some other people to visit with during the second half but I was there to see you being the only one left standing out of your group, and a certain someone take a "fall".
Somebody had to use the drum you guys brought. Didn't do much just sitting there.

Comparing who chanted the loudest or the longest is completely retarded. It's not a competition. No one's going to get an award at the end of the year. I enjoyed chanting with each and everyone of you, and I will continue to every match I can attend.
Nick - that was great how one of your dudes let Mitch use the drum. He's been itching to use it since last October.

Comparing who chanted the loudest or the longest is completely retarded. It's not a competition. No one's going to get an award at the end of the year. I enjoyed chanting with each and everyone of you, and I will continue to every match I can attend.
Well said, Chelsey. If all northenders had this mindset, the section would (and could) rival Sam's Army's presence at USMNT games.

Just a funny aside:
I've tripped more time at CCS when I was sober than I have when I had a "few" in me.. Infact, I don't think I've ever tripped once...
This weekend, you all might want to steer clear of me as I walk up and across 137.. That was fun last week, I must say.

And I thought he was joking too. It just looked too set up with him laying over 3 rows like that. Then he wasn't joking. But he can get away with it because he's the boss.
