Following a mysterious absence of several years, the Man of Steel comes back to Earth in the epic action-adventure Superman Returns, a soaring new chapter in the saga of one of the world's most beloved superheroes. While an old enemy plots to render him powerless once and for all, Superman faces the heartbreaking realization that the woman he loves, Lois Lane, has moved on with her life. Or has she? Superman's bittersweet return challenges him to bridge the distance between them while finding a place in a society that has learned to survive without him. In an attempt to protect the world he loves from cataclysmic destruction, Superman embarks on an epic journey of redemption that takes him from the depths of the ocean to the far reaches of outer space.

Directed by Bryan Singer (X2: X-Men United, X-Men, "The Usual Suspects"), Superman Returns stars Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth ("Beyond the Sea," "Blue Crush"), James Marsden (X2: X-Men United, "The Notebook"), Frank Langella (HBO's "Unscripted"), Academy Award-winner Eva Marie Saint ("North By Northwest"), Parker Posey ("Best in Show"), Kal Penn ("Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle"), Sam Huntington ("Detroit Rock City") and Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey ("Beyond the Sea," "American Beauty," "The Usual Suspects").

Superman Returns will be released on June 30, 2006 by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Lois Lane hasn't been cast yet, has she?

Apperently, these are the six main contendors:

I prefer Mia Kirshner myself.

It would appear Singer has fagged-out Superman.

I hope that Natalie Portman doesn't get chosen as Lois Lane. That would ruin the movie like she did as Padme.

Nah I don't think so; I think he's 1930s him, but fagged him out? No way.

This is just old school Supes. Which is the only way to go after the Donner work, imv...

First look:

Hmmm... is that Lois' kid in the film? That would be too much "modernizing" of the cultural content for my liking...remember what Cuba gooding said about the "pooty" and single moms in Jerry Maguire... :D

That's a terrible casting choice.

Any of the so called 'main contendors' would have been better.

Margot Kidder wasn't the greatest choice, but that worked out okay.

think they'll ever make a Superman vs. Doomsday movie?? That could be a whole trilogy with the death, the 4 imposters, and the return. Until then, I'll be waiting for the dvd.

Wait and see.

Foxx as Ray Charles, Will Smith as Ali, Sandler in P-DL, McGuire in Spidey, etc.

True, but of those you mentioned, I only really doubted Smith as Ali and Sandler in Punch-Drunk Love. Michael Keaton already showed us in Batman that you don't have to be a conventional action flick actor to make a believable superhero. And Foxx just is a great actor.

Yeah, 'cause Supes wasn't gay at all before this.

Thanks! I liked the clip. Hopefully they keep the original theme done by John Williams.
