What will help even more is that their fans travel very well and will boost the attendance at opposing stadiums. Even Duisburg will help there. Although their stadium only holds 30,000, same as Rostock's, Duisburg's fans travel better. I was still in Germany the last time MSV were in the Bundesliga. Went to their matches against 1860 and Stuttgart and their fans were plentiful. More than I've ever seen of Rostock's when I saw them play in Dortmund, Kaiserslautern and Nuernberg.

It's not just Rostock either. Freiburg's fans didn't "travel well" compared to those of Koln, Duisburg and Frankfurt.

Yep, and don't forget the Allianz Arena.

PS: anybody have the Premiership number?

The Allianz Arena will actually hold almost 3,000 fewer people than the Olympiastadion did.

I know, but attendance should still be higher - No? I remember many complaints about the Olympiastadion and how it kept some spectators away. The "spoiled event fan" should show up in massive numbers at the new arena.

I did some more searching and I was "wrong" to begin with. Olympiastadion did hold close to 69,000, but for most matches, Bayern only sold 63,000 tickets. The Allianz Arena will hold 66,000.

I apologize for my error.

Yeah, every Bayern home game for next season is already sold out.

33,893 was the premierships average attendence this season

with Sunderland playing premiership football next season (48,000) stadium and mabey West Ham (35,000) seater stadium and with Arsenal to move to Ashburton Grove in the 2006-07 season (60,000) should have some very big stadiums in the premiership :)

Guess that German tradition of following the pack hasn't diminished... ;)

I bet there are no 10000 Duisburg fans in Hamburg or Berlin, are there? Rostock fans are pretty famous for bringing big crowds to away games. Last Saturday there have been around 4000 Hansa fans in Dortmund. By the way sometimes being louder than 75000 Dortmund fans.

I agree, Hansas Fans travel fairly well, especially considering how far most games are for them....
Still Id say the numbers in general are similar to those of Duisburg.

Frankfurt and Cologne are on a whole other level than Freiburg and Bochum, that should really boost the whole average for at least another 1-2000...

Also All stadiums that were under construction are now finished or close to being finished, so theres another booster...

We really could get pretty close to the 40000 next season....
