Rangers were today crowned the Champions of Scotland for the 51st time. :D

We all thought it was over when Celtic beat us at Ibrox, but both teams kept their dodgy form and Rangers the lucky side.

To be honest, since I have been alive, I haven't seen such a poor performance from both Old Firm sides in the same season.

Anyway, 1 in a row, 9 more to go!

With Celtic losing Bobo Balde, Craig Bellamy and probably Martain O, 2 in a row looks likely.

Come on the Gers!

http://www.soccerbase.com/league2.sd?competitionid=12 - You weren't alive in 93/94? There were a few years in the early 90s when Rangers didn't exactly win it comfortably and Celtic didn't end in the top 2 for 6 seasons in the early 90s. There have been far poorer Rangers and Celtic sides than these 2. For a few years they couldn't win a game in europe and were getting beat by everyone. I'd say it's possibly the poorest they've been for maybe 5 years but before that they were both worse, especially Celtic.

It was a great choke job by my Celts. They have been a Dr. Jekyll and
Mr. Hyde team all year though. Not sure of the consistency and Defense
and Rab are questionable. Magnus was the best goalie it seemed, they
should have stuck with him.

Too true...the MON years have been great, I've had some stunning trips abroad as well as we exceeded expectations. It's not been the prettiest football I've ever seen but certainly some of the most effective and exciting.

I still can’t take it in!

The old hangover is terrible today but it’s worth it!

Looks like MON is definitely gone. Best to him & his wife.

According to the Irish Star Strachan will take over at Parkhead. Any thoughts?

First off I’d say good luck to O’Neil with his wife. Sad situation and I will be sad to see him go!

Could be interesting if Strachan gets the job as him and McLeish are the best of buddies!

First of all, this is a thread about the Champions of Scotland, not about Celtic goin down the drain. And where are the congratulations to Rangers winning the league? When Celtic "clinched" the league earlier this season, many of the Rangers fans congratulated Celtic.

Uch, anyway, wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooah

Well, since I started watching football.

I think I enjoy this championship more than the 2003 championship, when we nipped them by 1 goal. On the last day in 2003, we started on equal ground (equal # points). It just depended on which team won the last day by a bigger margin...

This year, we started behind, and still behind until the 88th minute. So it's like a God's gift to Rangers...

I mean, beating Celtic at the finish line is much better than beating them by 17 points, the margin they won last year...

Aye, it was a surprise, but one has to congratulate the Rangers...

I didn't even bother going to the pub to watch the match, instead followed it on match tracker and was shocked to say the least. Sort of reminds me when Bayern Munich let Manure Utd snatch those two injury time goals and kissed the CL cup away several years ago.

I still think that McLeish needs to go, Gers winning the title wasn't so much his coaching skills but Celtics choke at the season end. On top of that Gers haven't done squat in Europe since he took over and I doubt they will make the league format of the CL if he remains as coach.

How about holding the team together through the early rough patches? How about winning the title after the season-ending injury to his captain who also happens to be the best keeper in Scotland?

What would it take for some of you to admit that McLeish is a good coach? Do Rangers have to win every game for an entire season? He's brought home two trophies this season, how many has Martin O brought in with his supposedly superior team?

On top of that Gers haven't done squat in Europe since he took over and I doubt they will make the league format of the CL if he remains as coach.
Well, we'll see next year, won't we?

Yes, the same teams always win the league in Scotland, unlike Portugal (Oops, the same teams do always win that league) or Canada (Oops, they don't have a league.

p.s. Didn't Hearts knock "you" out of Europe?
