Now this has little to do with Ruud's 'poor season' or 'ability' as he is a class striker/finisher but after watching our dismal season this year (by man u standards)....i have to ask.....does Ruud have the physical pace to keep up in our offence with the likes of rooney and ronaldo?

I have often wondered about this, as he is notably the 'slowest' of all our forwards.....(and don't get me wrong i'm not calling for the selling of Ruud at all) just asking your opinions is all

Does his style add another dimension to our attacking? or hinder the speed/pace of our attacks?

I dont think his lack of pace (and I dont think he is that slow) really effects him because of the way he plays. He lives on the last defender and is just a natural poacher. None of his best qualities requires spectacular pace. However he needs to finish like he has in the past and not like he has this year (and I personally attribute his "bad" season on his injuries, directly or indirectly) if he is going to continue to be effective. But I dont think his lack of pace really negatively effects his or the teams performance. Afterall I dont recall a whole lot of complaints in years past when he was banging in goals.

Ruud is class.

I agree his keeping up with play was not quite what we have come to expect, it has taken him a little longer than expected recover his match fitness.

Speed is not Ruud's game. He is a poacher, a playmaker, an innovator. He will take shots from all angles in the box.

Leave the speed to Rooney and Ronaldo.
