$10 for a movie isn't that much - go to Canal St and get your own copy, you cheapskate.

Why don't you go down to the theater and pay for it. That way you experience it the way it was made to be experienced. You know, with people who wouldn't normally show up at your doorstep in your mother's basement.

F all ya'll! Why the hell spend money when I can get sh!t for free. I NEVER go to the theatre because its not my thing(rather spend those 10 bucks on booze). I always watch movies on DVD or when they come out on TV. Why do you guys have to hate the player?
And thanks to the people who replied with suggestions.

I only said pay for it once. Although, I still don't think going through life pilfering everything you can for free is honorable, nor justifiable. Be at least grown up enough to pay once, though.
There is such a wide variety of entertainment out there that if you know something either might not be for you, or definately isn't for you, then don't bother at all. Don't cheapen the good by stealing it. If something really does interest you, if something is enjoyable to you or you think it may be, you should pay for it. It wasn't created for free, it wasn't created just for you.

A very good reason in its own is that these movies were made to be seen in a movie theater, and not on the small screen.

Of course, but it can't be assumed that someone who only steals would have an appreciation for this.
If everyone in the world had been able to and had executed that ability to download and watch the original Star Wars for free, we wouldn't even be in the position to answer the rediculous question that kicked off this thread. Because there never would have been another Star Wars movie made.

Not true. The music industry faces this problem, yet they still sell CDs. 50 Cent had to sell his first album earlier because of bootleg copied...and that didn't stop him from being a second CD two years later, and helping out on the G-Unit, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck albums.
People would have still spent the money at the theater (the number of movie goers would beat the number of bootlegers), VHS, toys, etc.
It's wrong, but I'm sure Star Wars would have survived.

I just got to see the whole movie FOR FREE! ...
[no need for nastiness ... Mod]
As someone who writes film reviews professionally, I saw it for free more than two weeks ago. Then I went to a midnight showing opening night and the projector broke. They shifted us to another auditorium and gave us free passes to another film for our inconvenience. So I basically saw it for free twice by the end of the first showing. On the big screen. Like it was meant to be seen. So when you're squinting to make out details on the computer monitor, color me less than impressed.
People who do such things are robbing from the people who create these things, who have the reasonable expectation to be compensated for their work. And in the long run, piracy of any kind severely hampers and eventually cripples the economic system. They can make up any excuse or rationalization, but in the end, they ought to wear a mask while doing it.
And when you're trying to impress people who are old enough to shave and drive a car, I'd suggest that you please use s's instead of z's.

I said everyone, not a few, or even a few hundred thousand. If everyone did it, we would never have had the rest of the series to enjoy today.
