I have just finished watching United lose the F A cup final, I think fergie was thinking at the end looking out to see the Arsenal players celebrating " what the hell I have nothing to prove now Ill resign" and did you see Fergie shouting at Keane after Arsenal won, not called for I think, It wasnt Keane"s fault after all.
Can anyone give me a reason why RVN was on the field, his last miss was unforgivable. I repeat can everyone remember United beating Arsenal at Highbury 4-2 with Giggs Ronaldo and Rooney as our strike force.
Well Rooney and Ronaldo did there part in Cardiff, Giggs didnt get his chance to prove his, instead we got RVN who's legend goes before him and little else.
The tradgedy was we played well and should have won, but i look at the positive side of things and I personally dont care who owns the Club, in fact if he brings more money to the club for new players Great!!
A new manager, goalkeeper, some new world class midfield players can only improve on what is a very good team, and if Rvn can be used as bait to get the new midflield player then I say do it.
My only hope is that Ferdinand crying at the end wasnt anything else than dissapointment, and not sadness at this match being his last for United, heaven forbid, after all he has proven this season that he is one of the top defenders in the world, and should be offered a fantastic contract to stay.
There are times when some of you moderaters seem to be Fergie United supporters/// Now is the time for a new Manager I think, a new fresh start next season
Ps: I was on Vacation when we lost to Chelsea, can anyone tell me if United deserved it.?

I was just waiting for someone to come along and post something like this. Fergie should stay, and we should stick with Ruud for next season IMO.

Yeah, you look at the positive side by calling for the sale of our best player and the sacking of our manager.

Not this kind of question today.

lol a Neave thread. This means I don't need to read the premise before dismissing it for lunacy. The :) in the header gives it away.
Fergie tactically outclassed Wenger today...and now you're saying sack him?

I completely agree, Fergie is still a smart man, if anyone can get us out of this shite its him. As for Ruud we wait for next season. The danger again, is that Fergie might not be able to structure our team to succeed and Ruud might not come back to form, and we'll end up with another horrid season.

Hopefully Saha will be injury-free next season. If Ruud doesn't immediately start banging in goals, Saha will take his place in the starting line-up.

I think you have to be very optimistic to think that Saha and OGS can match the record that Ruud had before this season. Saha has not really taken his chances when played by SAF and OGS himself is not sure he can come back from his latest injury.
We can sell Ruud if we replace him with someone who has had a similar record in a tough league in Europe but to think that Saha or OGS or as some people have suggested Alan Smith or Rossi can replace Ruud is just unbelievable. They have yet to prove themselves in the EPL.
As a certain fan of another team always says, Saha has had one good season for Fulham and that is it and Alan Smith has never been a goalscorer
in the ilk of RVN.
I am all for OGS though to come back and partner up with RVN up front as I think that in the 2001-2002 season we had great success in one strech of games when those two were up front in a 4-4-2 formation.
However, who is to say that OGS can be the same player he once was even if
he plays again.

Individually, I don't think they can do so either.

I have to say the we are all Manchester United supporters.
But if you sack SAF and sell Ruud then who will be hired as the manager and who will be bought as the striker and who is to say that they will be any good anyway? How has the Saha deal worked out so far for us?
It is too big a gamble to get rid of the most successful manager in English Footbal's history just to try to see if a new manager will do well in his place.
It is not an easy task finding a prolific goalscorer either when it comes to replacing Ruud.
Those of us who remember the 26 years between 67 and 93 are not so keen to get rid of SAF just becuase he did not win the FA Cup final today.
His record at Aberdeen and MUFC speaks for itself.
SAF was not the one missing those chances today and yes Ruud did miss a couple but without him we may not have been here today either.

I can't belive you're thinking about Alex leaving after beating us twice and outplaying us today? Surely a penalty shoot out can't be the difference between him being a great or bad manager? :o

No. Only a minority of us think like that. The rest of us remember the lean years before SAF's reign when we only won 3 FA Cups in 26 years and nothing else.
Now some people think that if United does not win at least one trophy per season the world will come to an end but the rest of us know how difficult it is to win the EPL 8 times and the FA Cup 5 times whilst reaching the Final 7 times.
I guess we have to be on his case for only winning the League cup and the
ECL once. SAF does not get respect he deserves from some of us but he does get it from his peers (the other EPL managers) which says a lot.
They know how hard it is to equal what he has done.

Heck, I hadn't even heard of Manchester United back during the lean days and I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a relative newcomer. But I'm intelligent enough to realize that losing the FA Cup the way we did isn't the end of the world. We'll regroup and get our players healthy and focused once again to ascend back to the top.
