my "awards" for the concluding tv season:

best comedy: do you even need to ask? arrested development, baby

best drama: even before tarantino's gripping nearly feature length finale, the o.g. CSI kept distancing itself from all of the imitators

best new show: numb3rs... what can i say? i like crime solving dramas with excellent characters and it has a great cast

toughest emmy category: supporting actor in a comedy series... just you try picking between bryan cranston (malcolm in the middle), tony hale, michael cera and will arnett (all arrested development)... not to mention ken jenkins and john c mcginley (scrubs)

most improved: malcolm in the middle was utterly brilliant this season and each member of the family had ample chances to shine

sharpest drop in form: up until the finale last season, that '70's show was having a great 6th year... this year, it was absolutely painful to watch the handful of eps i saw

I don't know if you're including Cable but Deadwood was the only show I could not miss. Awesome...

Concerning recent shows, from what I've seen I liked Oz and CSI.
But our Tv started showing Simpsons and Married with Children right from the first episode all over again. Brilliant.

Comedy: Gilmore Girls. Nothing, NOTHING else came close. It's high time for the Emmys to get over their WB bias that cost 'Buffy' and Sarah Michelle Gellar dearly when the show was at its zenith, quality-wise. And there should be a congressional investigation if Lauren Graham gets jobbed AGAIN in best comedy series actress. Screw the Housewives; there's Graham, and then there's everybody else.

Drama: Battlestar Galactica, Lost, 24 or Alias. Can't decide yet on which will be the one I pick. You can't go wrong with any of them, really.

I'm digging the new Doctor Who (although some eps are rather blah).
