Pigs: nice to hear from you again! This is the best home record to a start of a season we have had in over 10 years. Maybe we have finally turned the corner?

Kopite: Nice going on your win. Keep it up it will only get better. When I first started with my Boys team at U-8 we went 0-10 in the fall. I thought the parents were going to lynch me. The only thing I took solis from was we got better every match. The following spring season we went 4-6. Im not sure how your leagues are set up but here in N.J. there are 8 leagues throughout the state and 7 flights in each age group Last season they are U-14's we wonn flight 1 and went undefeated, and take it from me the Parents were still not satisfied! The team this season went on to play at high school freshman and so far they are undefeated. Ive gone to see them play on a number of occasions and each time the final whistle blew they all ran over to me to get my reaction. Let me tell you this can be quite awkward but there is no greater feeling in the world. The last match I attended the coach of the High school came over and thanked me for making his job easy. I havent been back since.
usscouce try enter your team in as many tournaments outside your area as possable, as well as the state Tournament.

Fortunately it is a rec. league so it is a little less competitive and the parents are less into the results. Somewhat.

My kids had drawn three in a row, which was great from my point of view, but a couple of the kids, were saying "we're never gonna win" etc.

The game we won, 1-0, was a bit of an anticlimax in the end, dunno why.

We played much much better the next week and lost 3-1. Football! :D

It seems all our tournaments are pre-season which in my opinion is weird. So we use them for tune up games, they’re our first real competitive games of the season. Our first this season was awful we lost 3 of 4 games and never saw the playoffs. I thought it was harbinger of how the season would go but the guys got it out of their system and never looked back. They got an extra medal for me next tournament.
The high school will take them next season and I’ll give my knees a break…!

Holy Cow!

First Rooney breaks Arsenal's 30 game winning streak.

Then he breaks Leeds' 50 year reign over Everton at Elland Road.

Next up Liverpool!

The Evertonians were chanting his name for the last 14 min of the match. While the Leeds fans went home the Evertonians were still there chanting Rooney, Rooney, Rooney.
