AC Milan will most likely line up like this:

----------------Dida------------------
--------------------------------------
----------Stam------Maldini-----------
----Cafu-------------------Kaladze----
---------------------------------------
----------------Pirlo-------------------
------Gattuso-----------Seedorf-------
---------------------------------------
----------------Kaka-------------------
-------Shevchenko----Inzaghi----------

Liverpool probgably will line up in 4-5-1 formation, thus:

----------------Dudek-----------------
---------------------------------------
----Finnan-------------------Traori----
----------Carracgher----Hyppia--------
---------------------------------------
-----------Hamann----Alonso----------
--Garcia--------Gerrard-----------Riise-
---------------------------------------
-----------------Cisse-----------------

The above are the most likely permutations to arise on 25th May 2005 in Instanbul.

Agree on your Liverpool line-up (although Benitez is reasonably likely to go with Baros to begin with).

But it will be interesting to see if AC do indeed start off with Inzaghi on alongside Shevchenko or not. With Liverpool, as you say, most likely playing five across midfield, it could leave Milan a bit light in that area. Hamann will be detailed to mark Kaka out of the game, Alonso and Gerrard will go man-to-man with Seedorf and Gattuso. So that leaves Pirlo sitting back against Garcia and Riise still free.

I would love to see Inzaghi given the start in Istanbul I think Sheva-Inzaghi is the deadliest striking duo Milan can put out. I think that Maldini will play out left and Nesta will play in the middle next to Stam. I really hope that Serginho will play instead of Seedorf but I doubt Ancelotti would do that.

I think that it's more likely we see Baros to start instead of Cisse.

Maldini out wide, Nesta in the middle and Kaladze on the bench...that's how i see it.

Something tells me Ancelotti will find a place for Nesta in the starting eleven ;) And God willing Crespo starts over Inzaghi. Pippo is not even 75% fit and has squandered every scoring chance since his return. Crespo looked good today versus Palermo and if Ancelotti wants to keep he job he will play Hernan.

What has Pippo done to deserve the start?

Alonso isn't playing since he got two yellows...

I think Benitez will start Baros and Cisse on top.

with all his near misses the last few weeks, riise is overdue. he's also the perfect weapon against a milan squad that might easily take their eye off of him. he lays in wait on attack while others get most of the play but his surgical runs away from the ball usually create two or three quality strikes per match. since he invariably appears out of nowhere, his shots (usually from distance) are rarely forced and usually unchallenged. i think his ability, or inabilty to put the ball on goal along w/the reason you mentioned make him the x-factor in the final.

Ancelotti will put Nesta in. but I also think he will be playing Crespo with schev, if he was planning on playing Inzaghi in the final I don't think he would have played him today considering the shape he is in.

milan i think will come out with the usual line up

--------------------dida--------------------

cafu--------nesta--------stam--------maldini

--------------------pirlo--------------------

---------gattuso------------seedorf---------

--------------------kaka--------------------

-----------crespo---------sheva-------------

i think inzaghi will come on in the second half
he hasnt played enough to start in a CL final

liverpool:

--------------------dudek--------------------

finnan------carragher-------hyppia-------traori

-------------hamann-------alonso-------------

--garcia-------------gerrard------------riise---

----------------------baros--------------------

if liverpool go down and cant score, i think benitez will change the formation to a 4-4-2 with baros and cisse up top
tbh, i think liverpool should start with a 4-4-2 but its hard to get a man out of their midfield

This is probably the standard and most likely formation. At this point though, Serginho probably deserves to start over Seedorf.

I think Serginho slots better into Seedorf's position.

How about Serginho, he has been very productive, especially in making big plays on the offense with great accuracy of passing and shooting. He is better for us right now than Seedorf. I think he should start or at least get 45 min.

He has done no wrong in my book. Everytime he has come on he has put in good performances and at least 2x has saved our hydes. He has earned the start over Seedorf in my opinion, but Ancelotti probably won't see it that way.

I think that Inzaghi and Shevchenko have a better understanding than Sheva-Crespo.

I just feel that they work better together.

That might have been true two years ago. But what has Inzaghi done in the last three games to show you he is capable of playing like he once did? And it isn't like Crespo and Sheva were horrible together. Sheva set up Crespo numerous times this year and they looked pretty good together at times. Inzaghi is a shadow of the player he was two years ago and shouldn't be playing just because of a "feel".

I didn't say Crespo and Sheva are horrible together. I just think that Inzaghi and Sheva work better off each other.

Either way I am confident that Milan will get the job done.

FORZA MILAN!!!
