You can listen to his new album at http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/malkmus_stephen/874241/album.jhtml?popThis=playIt
I couldn't get it to work on the computer that I am on right now since the DRM upgrade it wants to install isn't working, but I am hopeful about it being good since I liked the last two albums. Let me know what you guys think.
On a related note, what are your favorite Pavement albums? I have only really listened to Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain and Brighten the Corners very much but want to hear some more of their stuff.

I'm a nutter for him/Pavement but the first few tracks I've found on the internet haven't sounded all that exciting to me. But think I've only heard three of the songs so perhaps the gold is in the other tracks.

Stop what you are doing right now and go buy the re-issue of Slanted & Enchanted called Luxe & Deluxe. In addition to the original tracks, it has the tracks from their brilliant EP Watery, Domestic, b-sides and a live show. It's one of the best deals going.

What are you waiting for???? Go. Don't click on any other threads. Just let go of the mouse and go buy it. It'll be the best $17 you've ever spent.

I've had this on my desk for like the last month, but have yet to muster up the energy to be reminded how good he USED to be.

Will do. I am looking online for the vinyl but not having much luck, even on eBay. I can get Terror Twilight at the local record store, but that is the only one they carry. So far it everyone seems underwhelmed. Did you guys like Pig Lib or his S/T?

Terror Twilight - Don't care for it (although the b-sides from the singles off of TT are pretty damn good).

Self-Titled Solo album - Liked it.

Pig Lib - It feels uneven to me. I really like some of the tunes but can't stand others.

Like bmurph, I'm a Malkmus/Pavement nut (hence, my username.) I just saw Steve and the Jicks here in LA on Tuesday. The new album has taken me a little while to warm up to, but I'm starting to after hearing some of the songs live. On the record, I'm not crazy about the keyboards and other sounds that are probably a product of spending time in a studio, but live those songs rocked. The keyboards and synthetic sounds were either not played or were drowned out.

emp2b3, check out Wowee Zowee, too. Probably my favorite Pavement album.
