Just a post-Tottenham thought. On this board right now it seems that most posters think that a) Moreno is most likely gone and that b) Etcheverry might stay provided he takes a pay cut. I know, I know- there are posters here who disagree with this assessment; I'm just trying to write down some common thoughts here.

But right now, I'm wondering if it's Moreno who will more likely take the pay cut to stay with DCU, that it's Moreno who really thinks that DCU is by far his best option and who will do what it takes to stick with the team and that he'll really go all out this winter to impress Hudson. Call it intuition.

DCU is hands down the worst team in MLS (see record), so why would any player be near the salary max? Listening Eddie?

DCU with all of its injuries was the worst team in MLS. With a healthy Q1 and Moreno, this team would have been .500 this year. My opinion, of course.

The question isn't just Moreno's health. It's his commitment/drive/hunger. (Call it what you like.) It seems to me that those were the things that were really in question this year. Even the healthiest Moreno will do us little good if he's lacking ... how 'bout ... motivation. Years ago Moreno had an edge to his game. He had a spark. That's been notably absent recently. And all the training and health in the world isn't going to bring that back. If Moreno can recapture that "something special" and get/remain healthy then he'll be an asset to the team. If he can't then it's time for him to move on or at least cost us less.

I agree.

Methinks Moreno will be back next year.

When was this? He had always been an unmotivated talent. He did what he needed to back then, never anything more

Only under Hudson has he really played to the fullest of his potential, sometimes.

Because that's what they're worth. You don't want Pope to make the max...fine, he can go to Europe and make four times as much.

And again he cost us a goal by not hustling to get back onside when Ben hit the crossbar.
