who are the ten greatest rappers ever?
This is my list
1. Tupac
2. Notorius B.I.G.
3. Common
4. Talib Kweli
5. Nas
6. Mos Def
7. Big L
8. Snoop Dogg(preferably his older stuff)
9. DMX
10. Dr. Dre
Most overrated= Jay-z
Most underrated= Talib Kweli
In the future= The Game, Quan
also eminem is not included for all of the crap he puts on his cds.
so what do you guys think

I almost forgot. 50 cent is COMPLETELY OVERRATED as well.

I don't know if I can make a top ten list, but I will say that besides the more famous rappers, I really enjoy Del Tha Funkee Homosapien and Maxi Jazz.

10. Dr. Dre---dont mistake production for lyrics.

9 Big-L (cut short b4 his greatness was ever heard coast 2 coast)

Jay-Z undertalks and 50 mumbles too much to be truly great. Common is a great writer but he doesn't flow a clearly as the other greats. When Ludacris is on he's one of the best, but he waste so much being comercial. pac had a handful of quality work but his image has pushed his legacy rather than his work itself.

I agree with your overated, JayZ,Ludacris,Nelly,JaRule and Eminem all dominate that list. Infact they should make a new Genre for this guys, something like poprap or Hip-pop

How do you include people like DMX, Common, Dre(who's rappin' is mediocre at best, better known as a producer) and leave out people like Kool Moe Dee, KRS ONE, Chuck D, Rakim, etc, etc...

Any list without Chuck D in the top 5 and without Rakim, KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, Method Man, LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Afrika Bambaata, Run-DMC, Gil Scott-Heron, Mike D/MCA/Adrock, and Wyclef in the top 15 is a joke.

DMX and Dre definitely shouldnt be in there. There is a case for the others, so no arguing from me.
As for the future, the game? The guy sucks! Plus he feels the need to use 3-5 lines of someone else's stuff in every song as his.
