It seems as though Pardew has finally decided to respond to himself and his players being criticized. His overly cautious approach to tactics and treatment of players has been annoying and hard to take but with quotes like this:-
"A lot of people said we didn't turn up that day, which I felt was harsh because the opposition played their part in us not playing so well.
"This time round we have to make sure we dominate the game and be it Derby or Preston - and in some ways both teams deserve to be there - it is a final I am looking forward to."
Pardew said: "We came here with a different tactical plan and the players applied that to the Pardew said: "We came here with a different tactical plan and the players applied that to the letter."
.....I'm starting to like the bloke. That can always change though, I'm on a high at the momment.
