It's not desicion time yet, but I'm intersted how do people, especially Western European, feel about it. Good chances are the host will be from some "exotic" country. I think Istanbul hosting the CL final is a good way to kill off some prejudice, and Euro 2012 could be a further step.

Azerbaijan is not able to host a EC. And also I don't think that Croatia and Hungary are able to do it, even if they work together they are still too small. I wouldn't like a EC in Russia, because it's too far away for most european fans, just like Ukraine. Turkey's infrastructure outside of Istanbul is not developed enough, yet. Greece has the capacity to host the even, but I doubt they have the money to host it, since they hardly could afford the Olympic games. Of all these Italy is the best choice.

A Euro should be played in Europe. So Azerbaidjan and Turkey are out by definition.
I`d like Greece or Poland/Ukraine, Croatia/Hungary would be nice too.

I think Italy would be the best place too. Quite central which i know sounds stupid but is useful. Plus it would actually be able to handle a large influx of people. Greece would be okay too but as said above the Olympics showed up some serious deficiencies.

It would be the third Euro for Italy. Maybe others should get a chance.

Azerbaijan.......???
About 90% of the population live below the poverty line.
I wouldn't want to go anywhere outside of Baku, and even that's not saying much. Hell maybe they can have a game slap bang next to the borders of Nagorno Karabakh, just to piss off the Armenians.
I'll go with the favourites imho - Greece. Have the far best infrastructure already, after hosting the Olympics.

No, a Euro has to be played inside the borders of the UEFA-members, so they could play it in Almaty in Eastern Kazakhstan if they wanted. ;)
Azerbaijan indeed can't be a serious option. All others could host it.

Hungary and Croatia put together has a larger population than Portugal, and they didn't seem to have any problem with it. In fact Hungary alone is only a few 100 000 smaller than Portugal.
I say Magyarorszag/Horvatorszag/Hrvatska...though, obviously, i may just tiny bit biased. ;)

Euro 2012 will either be in Russia or Italy. It just depends on who pays more for the privilege.

It speaks for itself, if we are talking about a "EURO".

They have Olympiakos' ground, the national stadium, one in Crete, another in Salonika and another in Xanthi I think.
But when I said infrastructure I meant, travelling, accommodation, transit, and general sport facilites. Stadiums are not the be all and end all of what has to be taken into account.
You may have amazing stadiums, but have crap mass transit systems and public services.
Athens is reeling from hosting the 2004 Olympic football tournament, with an already modern system in place. It wouldn't take much invest in it.

I would say either Italy or Greece but Italy has hosted euro before and greece just hosted the olympics so my vote went to Russia.

True, but it would be somewhat freaky, if the Euro would be played in the neighbourhood of Iraq.

Also, Hungary itself is bigger then Netherlands and Belgium put together. So, that's not a problem.
I can assure you that if Euro should come to Croatia/Hungary it would turn out great, beacuse that's what our mentality is like. We would do absoultely everything to make it work, even if that meant problems for our own people and economy. Greece proved themself very unprofessional before the Olympics.
But, despite the fact I would do anything to bring Euro to Croatia, the part of me doesn't want it to happen. Really don't know what would some of our clubs that average only few thousands spectators per match do with 40.000 seaters after the tournament is over.
