I'm thinking of taking my boys to see the USA vs. England match here in Chicago in two weeks. Does anyone know what overall quality of roster these teams will send? I see a couple long threads here, but I don't know all the names. I'm just wondering in general. Is this match worth attending? Thanks.

Familarise yourself with the squad, here:

It's always better to be there, than watch it on the box, IMHO............. :(

It's only a 45 minute drive for me, so I expect I'll go.

I went online to see what was available and jumped on them when I saw 4 seats in the front row of the 3rd tier. This is much better for my kids, so they don't have adults standing up and down all day in front of them. So I will be in attendence! Hope both teams field decent squads. Based on what I've read, it looks like USA may be at about 80% strength, and England may be at only 70%. Lots of stars unavailable. Is that a fair assessment?

Yes it looks like the US will have a core of players that are used to being there, perhaps as many as 8 regulars (Keller, Mastroeni, Berhalter, Bocanegra, Mastroeni, Donovan, Johnson, McBride)

England is deprived of some of its stars, notably John Terry and Frank Lampard (Chelsea) and Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), and perhaps even Beckham and Owen from Real Madrid.

However since Madrid are essentially finished, they might join up.

Sven called up a bunch of players that don't normally see time. But how many of those players will get in the game? Not all of them, so you will still see a decent side, with players that start on Premiership teams.

Enjoy the game, take pictures for us, and don't forget to wear RED!

Also Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand are out of the tour.
