This will be our last chance at Silverware and another chance to beat Arsenal.

By way of news...

http://skysports.planetfootball.com/list.asp?hlid=276960&CPID=1&CLID=3&lid=&title=Henry+out+of+Cup+final&channel=Premiership

Its been said that Henry will not be available for Arsenal in this game... good news for us I guess, but (not slighting him in any way) I don't think he would have been that much of a factor... well, he is usally well handled by Rio and co.

Of course we all know that Heinze is fighting for fitness and that its a toss up as to whether he will play at this point.

In my heart I believe he will play... the lad is tough as nails and gives his all. If any player on the team deserves a place in the team (and I know that's not the issue) its him.

If however, Heinze is not fit I'd play O'Shea at lb in his place (he set up fletcher's goal and scored agaisnt Arsenal already this season)

So my line up would be...

-----------------Ruud
Rooney------------------------Ronaldo
----------------Scholes
---------Keane----------Fletcher
Heinze-----Brown------Rio-----Gary
-----------------Carroll

Rooney and Ronaldo will both have freedom... Ronaldo freedom to switch flanks and Rooney freedom to drift inside and support Ruud... Fletcher will provide semi width when Ronaldo switches flanks and our fullbacks will look to get forward as usual.

I expect we will see Bergkamp, Van P_ussy ;) up front, with Reyes as a sub and Freddie and Pires supplying width...

Yeah, but as Achtung reminded me privately....

Subs Bench:

Fletcher
Fletcher
Fletcher
Fletcher
Kleberson (you know, cause he's Brazilian and it'll keep the KFC happy)

posted my lineup in another thread but i'd like to see giggs benched, we need a good mix of youth and experiance v arsenal, if we use all the old guard, the pace in the arsenal team will cause us problems.. now the team..

Caroll

Gary Neville-Rio-Brown/Silvestre-Silvestre/Heinze (if he makes it)

Fletcher-Keane-Scholes

Ronaldo-v Nistelrooy-Rooney

i just think we need fletcher or someone in the team to help keane out in the big games (not Giggs), and we have the threat of giggs to come of the bench if need be. im actually not sure on o'shea playing, he seems abit of a liability at the moment (giving the pen away and now the own goal) but i'm not sure about silvestre at LB if heinze doesn't make it either, i've gone for silvestre over him simply because silvestre has to pace to deal with freddie and pires (maybe reyes too).

Goals in the last two games for RVN are a good sign, but I think it will be difficult to beat Arsenal again this season. I don't think Giggs can be left out of the final.

My PPV boycott is not off to a good start, I ordered the Southampton game. So far I am behaving just as Glazer expects.

Damnit! If we had done this against them at Highbury we would have won 11 times, got 11 points, and won the league.

My proposed lineup:
--------------MacFarland
Spires------Hovan---Brooks-------Rice
Brian Kelly---Barber--Quarles---Clayton
-----------Galloway--Williams

Let's beat 'em deep and expose their zonal coverage!!

What next, the ghost of Vince Lombardi as our new No. 2?

Well for starters we cn eliminate this whole 'penatlie' process. Bring on over-time multiple-ball!!

I think you'll lineup in a Wishbone formation, and run the Counter Trey Off-tackle in 3rd and Short situations. Also, I expect Rooney to try to run some reverses to Ronaldo, as well as looking for Ruud around the Goaline on some Play-Action in the Endzone. Scholes is great for keeping drives alive and Arsenal's man-to-man isn't good enough.

Arsenal is notorious for being a problem stopping short yardage downs. On the other side of the ball, you should blitz Keane up the middle and often. The Arsenal Line can't hold up to give Bergkamp time to find Reyes or Pires on the deep patterns, thus they'll have to go over the middle where Rio will be waiting to tip some balls or possibly get an interception.

I'm sorry. Really. :D

So I take it you're guessing...

--------------------------------------------Rooney
---------------------------------------------Keane
--------------------------------------------Scholes
Giggs----------Howard---Silvestre--Brown--Ferdinand--Ruud--Heinze----------Ronaldo

With Kleberson as 2nd string to Scholes, Carroll & O'Shea coming in for goalline formations, Fletcher returning kicks and, Gary Neville for fieldgoals & Phil Neville punting?

Exactly! Just swap Heinze and Ruud, I predict a 21-0 scoreline.

must disagree with you there. pace? giggs has it. one of the fastest on our team, despite his age, by far. we need him there for the crosses, at least

Definetly going to be a good game, damn without Henry it does not seem as much as a final. I wish he were there to play, it would just make the game so much more exciting. I hope Cris. Ronaldo is in top................forget it I just hope that the whole team is in good shape. We definetely know Cris is gouing to play because of his performance in the FA cup final last year and because of the bet w/ Fergie.

if Henry was playing it would be 10 on 11, so at least now both sides are even strength.

i'm not even going to predict this one. expecting the worst and hoping for the best

Henry is injured so I guess that will mean the score will be less than 7-0 to Arsenal. The other players rested for the Birmingham game will be back though - my guess the Gunners win 3-1.
