Hey,

Does anyone know of any confirmed gathering of England fans the night before the US friendly? I'm planning on doing a story on the atmosphere of the weekend.

Look for us near the Sam's army tailgating on the raised parking area. I'll bring my Cuban flag so we will be easier to spot.

I shall be joining two busloads of England supporters who are planning on breakfast at some restaurant called "JJ Fish" 26 East Adams (312) 578 - 0220. Plan on being there about 7:30 - 8:00 AM Saturday for about an hour and a half, and then onwards to Soldier Field. See you there.

I have an update as it relates to the guide: WSCR is now at 670-AM (since 2000) and the only kind of football they talk about is American football.

I have an extra ticket for the football match was suppossed to go with ex-bird, but decided against that idea. Does anyone know of any good pubs and clubs whilst in the chicago area, my seats are pretty much front row would hate to see it go to waste. Staying in Adams as well and looking for some birds, were do most meet up were I am staying will be in a hotel with a British pub so thought that would be a good meeting place, inform me, waz.

Hey people,
As for bars around the stadium, check out this site:
http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/
I live here in the city, and it's what people use to find the bar/pub they're looking for. The stadium itself is right on the water, near a few museums. It's essentially in a park, and there arent any pubs right near the stadium that I know of.
Instead, go out to Michigan Avenue (the main North/South street in the city) and head north. You are bound to find a bar around somewhere, but your best bet is to go north, over the bridge. Once you get up there, it's the real touristy area and there are bars everywhere. Specifically, go up to Chicago Ave, turn left, and go to Rush street. That's where all the trendy bars are, and you could find some good pubs there as well.
Last thing, a great way to get your bearings is to use:
http://maps.google.com/.
Enter in the address you're looking for, and switch over to the satellite view (at the top right of the page), so you can get a sense of where everything is.
Hope this helps!

I hope some of you will make the trip up to the north side sometime this weekend to The Globe Pub, the best soccer bar in the city.
