Fans Choice Award

Anyone you like, but please if you can give a reason...

* Just to explain, the Revelation award is a player, maybe not who has come from the youth ranks to take the league by storm, but also an unheard of older player...Basically a player who has come from nothing or perhaps relative obscurity to be a shining star of the league.

# You can vote for the Overall player of the year from any player selected for any various award. Your Overall player can be different from your other choices. You don't have to select one from YOUR choices, only the nominees listed.

How could anyone have Essien instead of Juninho for player of the year ?! Juninho led his team in scoring and he's not even a striker. That's quite an accomplishment for a player on the #1 top team in the league.. He's the most important player on that team not Essien. He's the engine that makes everything go and work. Heck, Juninho should win player of the year just for his free kick taking ability alone. I see some people here also picked Diarra and Kalou for player of the year but Im sorry I think Juninho is the clear cut winner no ifs ands or buts about it. Just watch the macthes and you'll see. I noticed that ganu and me were the only 2 people to pick him for midfielder of the year and player of the year. Hmmmm brilliant minds think alike ?

Kalou has been excellent this year.... Auxurre has no business being where they are in the table, and he and Benjani are the reason why.

If you wanna argue for Kalou being midfielder of the year then fine but player of the year no I dont think so. Auxerre are always in the upper half of the table year after year even after losing guys. They lose Kalou next year they'll get somene else and they'll still be in the upper half. Where was Kalou when they lost to CSKA Moscow

Well I guess you missed his goal in the 78th minute at home... Anyways. The guy can't defend, play keeper, midfeilder and striker all at the same time.

Yeah but Juninho can do 2 of those things really well. Lyon's strikers were bad this season and Juninho had to pick up their slack in the goal scoring department and he did it well.

i picked juninho for POTY even if i picked diarra for best midfielder. because even if diarra is imo the best at controlling the midfield, juninho influence goes so much farther. the free kicks for example. not only do they count as goals, they double the penalty area as far as opposing defenders are concerned. and he runs gerland. if the fans aren't making enough noise, he lets us know it.

he runs the team too.

tactically: lyon runs the ball up both sides and down the middle, every which way. if so many players have scored, it's because OL never comes at the opponent the same way twice. but if it starts to get too slow, too fast, disjointed or sloppy, juni steps in and gets things back on track.

psychologically: OL never gives up because he never does. when OL beat monaco in stoppages time, clement headed in the goal, but juni scored it. the last 20 minutes OL ran at them like wild men... we dare you to foul us!! he held 10 men together with spit, glue and hope until finally ASM cracked and OL won. and not for the first time, oh no...

Essien is replaceable Juninho is not replaceable. Essien leaves the team will go on Juninho leaves the team will sink. There's plenty of Essien type players available I mean they got him from Bastia for like 5 million. Where are you gonna find another Juninho ? You've gonna have to scour Brazil and hope you get lucky. A guy like Steven Gerrard is someone I'd compare to Juninho and theres no way you are getting him so you'd better hope Juninho retires at Lyon.
