As a MetroStars supporter of MLS here in the USA, I just wanted to say that he is an absolute gentleman and is a world class player. He played a wonderful ball to our up & coming attacking midfielder/Forward Eddie Gaven who ripped a nutmeg thru the Chicago keeper.

Just a wonderful player with class & poise.

Thank You.

And Lebannon and his Armenian heritage. ;)

Thanks for your thanks. At first, I was not sure about his last career move, but i've seen highlights of Metro games and i must admit "the snake" still can play very good soccer. His passing is as good as ever : he puts the ball EXACTLY where he wants.

By the way, "classy french" is a pleonastic expression.

(just kidding  )

Since Bigsoccer is based in USA, I use the american name for the sport. Let's call it a way to thank the Americans fo giving us such a nice forum.

(wow, maybe I can squeeze a free membership for that !)

thanks for coming here and saying that ... we love le snake here.

Now get yourself a real turf instead of that carpet, and the Metros will be in business.

the djorkaeff family is well installed here in the lyon area; besides his father jean, who was a big star for OL and france, the amateur club in the suburb of decines, which has a large armenian population, is more or less run by the family. last year my son's team got a nice tournament trophy from the hands of yuri's brother (whose name i didn't get, sorry).

cant wait to see him and the metros play on May 31st at Giants Stadium.
should be a great day since its a doubleheader with the England-Columbia exhibition game starting immediately afterwards.

Should I make a big "Le Snake" banner for the occasion?

Ps: although technicaly "wrong"...they should
have signed him 4 years ago...but were never
going to wait till 2013 to do so (12 years cycle)
;)

With Djorkaeff, you can never know. By 2013, he will be only 45 years old, and probably still one of the best passers in the world.

Just like your expansion club has no right to play on that turf as well ;)

i can't see real turf at the meadowlands standing up to jets, giants and metros and whatever else.

some artificial fields these days are very nice. my son plays on one that is definitely better than half the pitches in Ligue 1.

wouldn't the Metro have the advantage of playing of turf since they are used to playing on it day in and out? to me that doesnt explain why theyve been losing at home at all.

Well, the reason that they've been losing is that they are a god aweful team. RSL even managed to get a point off of them at the Meadowlands. :)
