in light of the recent change of "ownership" there have been several different voices dissenting among the forumer in these threads.
some are pro-Glazer, others would be willing to drive a stake through his heart and have him Excommunicated just for good measure.
the poll is designed to decipher the general discourse among the entire Manchester United fanbase here...
post comment if you want.

Selling a stadium (and consequently getting a bigger and better one) is a good resource for clubs. They make money and clear a BIG square in the city (the stadiums used to be outside the cities, but they've grown and swallowed them), so everyone is happy: access is easier for fans, who also get a new, state of the art stadium, the clubs get a wad of cash for premium land and reinvest part of it in cheap land for a new stadium, and city hall is extremely happy because they have cleared expensive land AND they have gotten rid of a security/noise/traffic hazard. I know there is a sentimental component to it and stuff, but, come on, these buildings are not World Heritage Sites... I think selling is a good move whether Glazer is in the picture or not

You obviously don't realise what OLD TRAFFORD means to Manchester United do you.

When Man U went public - that was the time when you could nail "Sold Trafford" on the front door. Why is it OK for a couple of Irish racehorse owners to own a controlling chunk of Man but not OK for a Yank? A Yank who bought the laughing stock of the National Football League (Tampa Bay) and got them up to win the Super Bowl? Thats equivalent to buying Brighton & Hove Albion and winning the Prem!

I'm having trouble understanding why anyone could possibly think that Glazer would sell Old Trafford. In fact, his plans include extending OT, not selling it. Nevermind boycotting Man U - this Glazer takeover has made me want to boycott BigSoccer due to all the silly conclusions and general panic. Here are the ridiculous conclusions that I have heard so far:
- Malcolm Glazer is going to sell all of the players to pay off his debt.
(Hmm....strange....I wonder how we'd play football? Further, if we cannot play football, how will he make any more money? and WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU BUY A FOOTBALL TEAM IF YOU WANTED TO SELL THE PLAYERS.)
- Malcolm Glazer is going to fire Alex Ferguson.
(If you believe that, go support Arsenal or something.)
- Malcolm Glazer is going to get us taken out of the Champions League.
(I know that there has been some press about this possibility, but I have a very rough time believing it. Why would he want to lose a massive, profitable tournament?)
Before anyone has a fit, I'd like to say that Glazer annoys me as well - but to jump to absurd conclusions that he's going to sell the players and turn Old Trafford into his personal garage is MENTAL. STOP. PLEASE. Manchester United has been a good business for a while now, and Glazer will want to keep it that way. Now, go to the toilet or something, and calm the ******** down.

united would get about 80,000 on average, 90,000 in big matches, so if it was 90k it wouldnt sell out all the time.

It's a bloody STADIUM, not St. Peter's Cathedral. I did acknowledge there is a sentimental component to it. How far you might want to take that against a rationally profitable move, that's up to you fans to decide.

SO in conclusion... no, you don't know what Old Trafford means to this club.

Another "you anti-American Mancs" comment from another poster who completely missed the protests against the Coolmores and Murdoch as well. But that's fine, a little total misinformation never hurt anyone (well aside from maybe a few Iraqis).
A Yank who bought the laughing stock of the National Football League (Tampa Bay) and got them up to win the Super Bowl? Thats equivalent to buying Brighton & Hove Albion and winning the Prem!
The. Premiership. Is. Not. The. NFL. And. Besides. The. Bucs. Have. Sucked. Since. They. Won. The. Super. Bowl.
(No, I don't really think that's going to prevent more idiots from coming in here and making the same comparison, but I can always pray.)

Glazer will fix everythings up, and brings the MU back to the top. He has a plan to bring talented Americans to Old Trafford and be part of it's history. I think Glazer will be good for MU and he will be needed to compete with Abramovich's Chelsea.

It's unfathomable to me why some people compare the Bucaneers to Man Utd.
One team operates in a league with a salary cap and parity...the other does not. If the EPL had a salary cap and a "trade" system...we wouldn't all be nearly as worried.

Not to mention the greatest equalizer of them all--the college draft. The Buccaneers and United could hardly have less in common.

Oh come on Achtung, you're becoming hyperbolic, now... both of them do use the red, black & white colours on their kits (eeerrrrr, uniforms?) afterall.

What a revelation - the Prem aint the NFL. Really? W o w, t h a n k s p a l
You cant see the wood for the trees can you? The point is that this fellow Glazer has a track record of success in pro sports.
And the reason why the Bucs have sucked since? Well they dont exactly suck - they are nowhere near Glazers the starting point. But I will concede that Glazer hasnt succeeded like Bob Kraft, but on the other hand one would have to say that Glazer now has a better soccer team than Bob Kraft!
For those out in left field - Kraft owns the Patriots (3 time NFL Champs) and the Revolution (MLS).

This Yank is gonna take over the entire thing, not just a "controlling chunk."

Have you ever been to Manchester? Or indeed... Trafford?
