Please sign this petition to keep "Fox Football Friday", the fabulous Fox Soccer Channel show hosted by Steven Cohen and Nick Geber on the air. According to reports the show will be ending its season soon and there are no plans for it to be renewed in the fall for the up coming Premiership kick off in August. This is the only show of its type in the US, pairing two actual fans of the beautiful game, who go at it week in and week out discussing everything from the MLS to the Premiership. It would be sad to see this show go so please vote to keep it on the air.

Let FFF go. Other than the first 10 minutes of the show (the EPL review), it's unwatchable. A program with hosts that actually know about football beyond their two teams of choice would be a much better option. I find Steve insufferable (and it's not just because he's a Chelski fan). Nick's not bad, but I cannot recall a single thing that either of them contributed that made me think "wow, I'd not heard or thought or read that on the internet" before. Listening to both of them blow their prompter read during their "rants" makes me want to poke out my eardrums with rusty needles. Thank God for the Tivo 30 second jump. If I want to hear two guys do an hour of "my side's better than your side" I'll watch FanZone. At least there's a game to watch when the mute button is on.

Goodbye, Nick & Steve. Nice knowing you.
FFF has made no progress since its debut. The call-ins are still a calamity. US soccer fans deserve better than two Brits doing a half-assed produced show. Is there still a place for N&S on the telly? Proabably. But the FFF approach just wasn't it. We need some American influence. FS already has the EPL Review, SKY Sports, etc. How about a show dedicated to US soccer (not just the highlight reals of MLS Wrap).
I wouldn't mind keeping a bit of the relaxed feel of FFF, but with a bit more analysis and professionalism, a little Best Damn Sports Show and Baseball Tonight mixed together. Our number one celebrity fan Drew Carey could be just the right host for a new show (seriously). He obviously loves and appreciates the game, so why not? Throw in a couple of "pros" to keep it grounded, some intersting guests, and a nice studio.
Anyway, I think N&S have tried their best, but I'm not gonna miss the show.

No, Drew Carey would be a joke as a host. I heard him talking football with the new host of CBS late late show (I don't remember his name right now but he's Scottish) and I wasn't impressed by Carey's insight at all.
I think a lot of the blame that you place on the production has more to do with FSC than it does with Nick and Steven. None of FSC's show are exactly well produced or look high quality. They don't invest any cash into them so what do you expect.

Great news! Back to radio for those idiots.
Of course, FSC is so poorly run that I expect they'll put an even worse show, if that is possible, on in their place. I can see it now, "the Max Bretos Soccer Hour."

I would sign if they guarantee no nick or steve next season. well, maybe keep nick. listening to them talk about how american soccer should be run/played is annoying. they seem to think the english way is the only way, and they dont respect the fact that the US dominates every sport that the populace loves because they do it their way. the game has room for improvment, and america has something unique to offer it. and the leading opinionated personalities on the leading soccer network shouldn't be calling for foreign coaches to lead the national team.
...sorry that was kind of a rant. basically, i just find them annoying.

I think Nick and Steven are great businessmen. They've done a great job of getting their radio show and TV gig out there to the masses. As far as their analysis goes I never respected their abilities because they let their own biases determine their opinions. For example, I remember a few months back when Steven said that Arsenal were fading fast and would be battling it out with Liverpool for the fourth spot. As a die hard Liverpool fan I thought to myself 'what utter nonsense.'

I don't mind the show and hate to see any original programing (except Fox Soccer USA) be taken off the channel.
I just think FSC has reached the overflow mark with the EPL. Every other game on the channel is EPL or an EPL replay. In addition to that you have the FSW Report, which devotes half the show to the league, Sky Sports News, and the EPL Previews and Review shows.
Give two guys who only really know about the English game and would you really expect any fresh material?

I heard that they accused Shareholders United of being anti-American and anti-Semetic.
Can't be more "head-up-assed" than that.

Yep, they did. Sort of; IIRC it wasn't SU specifically, it was generalized to the opposition to Glazer. And it was the Chelsea fan, not both of them.
It wasn't a bad idea for a show, but it was a bad idea to have two British ex-pats who are so EPL-centric that they look at every question through that prism host it. A good bigsoccer poster, paired with the Pool fan, THAT would be a good show. Actually, there were alot of ways to make this a good show. They just happened to pick one of the many ways to do a bad show.
The call-ins were bad from the beginning, and never got better. (I only watched occasionally after the first month.) I am beyond shocked that they didn't go to e-mail questions; it was obvious by week 3 to even a retard that that would work better. They really deserve to get canned just for that monumental piece of incompetence.
You know how the most annoying posters here are almost always the ones who take the most extreme positions? These guys were like having two M clones host a show. It's bad enough that they were extreeeemely one league-centric, and not fair and balanced all-around soccer guys. It was even worse that they had the same extreme perspective.
For what it is (which is a steamin' pile of crap), Crossfire works. A show with Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity (or Bill Clinton and Al Franken, on the other side of things) debating each other would not work on any level. Hearing a Chelsea fan and a Liverpool fan slag each other for an hour was horrible television.
It pissed me off, because I really wanted it to work.

I don't think a lot of you understand the entire purpose of the show. Why would anything on FSC focus as much on other leagues as the main league that they show? That doesn't make any sense. They have two EPL-centric hosts because the channel is EPL-centric. They show much more EPL than anything else. If they had the rights to Serie A or La Liga then it would get more attention but they don't and probably won't for a long time.

Of course, they were always going to be EPL-centric but that doesn't mean that they had to be so ignorant of the rest of the football world. I can see where Chelsea and liverpool fans might have liked the show but anyone else would just see two fools talking about their teams for an hour (one show the chelsea guy mentioned the team in almost every sentence) with just passing mention of the rest of the EPL (usually just in relation to Chelsea and Liverpool) and not much beyond the EPL except for showing the tables and reading the times games would be shown. Sorry but I can use my onscreen guide to find show times and get the latest tables on the internet. The fact that they sometimes had errors in the tables and times just made the show even more useless.
FSC should give them the boot, bring in some guys with broad knowledge of the football world, expand the show to 2 hours, cut the viewer calls, and give the hosts time to really get into the latest news and the upcoming games at some depth beyond "Chelsea is great" or "Liverpool have a great history" or "I'm so glad Chelsea won". If FSC can't get that done then just cut the show completely and put on Dream Team marathons. :D

I think the show was a good idea, and I enjoyed it. I do think that one hour to cover all of football for one week, is not enough. Maybe they should restructure the show to cut down the leagues that they cover. What they really need to do is bring in some other people to do another show for the MLS. I don't think Nick and Steven are the right people to cover it. Maybe they should make there show strictly about the EPL. I don't like the commercial side of the show either. They are constantly going some sponsor or other, that wastes time. At the end of the day you have an over view show, that doesn't really deal with anything. I remember watching Saint and Greaves on ITV in England, they weren't exactly that good either, but they only covered the EPL or maybe Internationals dealing with England. All in all, I think the show should stay, but should be improved.

I do hope that they keep this show on the air for next season. It's not as bad as some of you make it out to be. So what if they keep mentioning their favorite teams, I found them entertaining in that regard. I also like the call ins, that brings a certain sense of unpredictability and most of the callers ask good questions. Nick and Steve do a good job of answering those questions, especially about the EPL, but I have noticed that sometimes they stumble a bit in regards to MLS and Bundesliga, but that is ok with me, FSC is mostly about the english league. The frequent references to their sponsors is alright as well because on the positive side, commercial breaks are very short. I don't even remember what their sponsors sell, wasn't one of them american or british airways? and Mitchum men, but I don't remember if that was some kind of fragrance for men or some kind of motor oil. Anyway, I would like to see this show back on for next season.

Right, so let's axe an original show with room for improvement and replace it with A. an infomercial or B. a show or game in rerun that we've seen 20 times.
Keep it, and follow these suggestions:
Loosely follow the PTI format; do news/results/tables, do a 5 minute interview with someone (pre-recorded, for all I care, but with the two hosts spending just a couple minutes with, say, Michael Owen, or Bobby Robson, or one of the other four million people involved in top flight football who speak English), then read emails (as mentioned before, the calls are the suck), then wrap up with rants or whatever.
But do not replace an original show with the fifth replay of an El Salvador game... please....
You know how the most annoying posters here are almost always the ones who take the most extreme positions? These guys were like having two M clones host a show. It's bad enough that they were extreeeemely one league-centric, and not fair and balanced all-around soccer guys. It was even worse that they had the same extreme perspective.
Nah, M gets his facts right whereas these guys consistently get things wrong that you'd expect them to get right. Example last night: one thought Pearce had missed his pk in '98 and then they both agreed in was '96. It was in fact the semifinal against W. Germeny in '90, and Pearce scored his against Germany in EC '96. LIttle things like that add up over time. Good idea for a programme; poor execution.

just because it's not for you doesn;t mean it should be taken off the air! yeah, let's get rid of the best produced show in the country about soccer. sure, the show's content doesn't appeal to adults, but it's not for adults. it's for kids. stick your pre-teen/teenager that is interested in soccer down in front of this and they will enjoy it.
as for the people calling for nick and steven to be removed from tv... i hate this show, but there are those out there that don't. if you hate it, don;t watch it, but why deprive everyone of watching it because you think it sucks.
