Last class I had I remember Dave McKee mentioning US Soccer making a booklet for parents to help explain the Laws in a simple manner that a 3 year old could comprehend. Anyone know if this exists yet? I had a parent ask me about it, because I guess she is getting irritated at all the other parents yelling for bogus offside calls and such.

Look for a booklet called the "Laws of the Game Made Easy" published by US Soccer.

If you're looking for something available immediately (and free), you should check out Dave Graham's Soccer Coaching Manual (http://www.ucs.mun.ca/~dgraham/manual/). In the "Resources" section is a guide to the Laws of the game, and a brief summary version (http://www.ucs.mun.ca/~dgraham/lotg/dl/microfaq.rtf) of the Laws that's about 15 pages and covers both the Laws and some interpretation.

Law #1 - shut up and sit down. Little Billy or little Heather is far too young to be the next Pele/Mia, so can the noise from the sideline and enjoy the day.

Law #2 - see Law#1

Under fouls:Remember though, the referee is ALWAYS right. :)

That should replace Claymore's Law 1. Law 2 still looks good. ;)

I grew up playing hockey, then reffing hockey. I was taught by my Dad, the coach and a ref: "remember the ref might not always be right, but he's NEVER wrong"

We all make mistakes, even as refs, however, that does not give the players the right to tell you how wrong you are ;)
