Good riddance. The few times I saw MLS or any American soccer mentioned on that show it was with such disdain that I stopped watching.

Amen. If those two limeys love Chelsea (c'mon that guy couldn't have liked Chelsea before Abramovich) and Liverpool (the other guys obsessive man-crush on Gerrard is just a bit creepy) so much move back to freakin' England!

FFF is a good show for soccer neophytes. It makes soccer more accessible to the untapped American market due to its watered down content.

I enjoy watching Fox Football Friday from time to time. It's the "Wayne's World" of Soccer programming. But I could never figure out why we need a program produced in this country that is focused on the EPL. There are plenty of options for that unless you simply can't live without the perspective of English Ex-patriots.
Party on Nick and Steven!

Doesn't FSC have a deal with the USL to show matches? Friday has been that slot for a few years.
I'm sure the show will be back in August.

Man i used to hate that show at first. . but kinda like a fat girl with personality and warm cookies. . i enjoy its company now.
I wouldn't be quick to dismiss the show if there is nothing substantively similar to take its place. If FSC is the leader of footy in the US, then they need a roundtable or disucssion type show to parse out the issues and let viewers see and hear more than the news.
Its the same reason i like Pardon the Interruption on ESPN. . its summarizes the big issues in about 2 minutes and moves on. If you dont like it, dont watch. but if you cant get something similar for the neophytes, then why cancel it?

I hope she can spell better too.
If you don't like the show, don't watch it. But hoping a show gets cancelled because you don't like it makes you look immature. The show is not hurting you and no one is forcing you to watch it. Those that do enjoy it would still like to.

I hope they don't cancel the show, but I wish someone would produce a soccer show that didn't have public-access cable production values.
Even the PBP on games sounds like a couple of retards on "Fanzone.'
We need a solid MLS-focused show, and not one that comes on at Midnight. I like the new format better than watching Harkes and that drone Wheelock, but the new show has absolutely zero analysis.
Why can't Fox get it together?

I like the show. Its focused on English soccer because its an FSC program, and it runs during EPL's season, while MLS is just ending or just beginning. The relative coverage of English vs. other Euro and S. American soccer more or less mirrors the relative coverage of FSC (and the former FSW's) soccer coverage during the August-May period. If FFF ran year-round, it would cover MLS more, I'm sure.
I like the show because its hosted by fans, not professional commentators. They were getting good guests for a while, although they seem to have phased that out, unfortunately. There are plenty of shows hosted by professional commentators who don't talk smack to each other, bet a head-shaving on matches, etc., and those are great for you if you like them. None of the hosts on those shows are ever going to ask the US WNT's head medic "which player has the best swingers?" Nor are those shows going to broadcast live from sports pubs.
I also like the show because when it debuted, GolTV was not available to me and FFF was about the only weekly soccer show (other than MLS Wrap, which by definition covered only MLS) available, so I have some lingering loyalty to it.
I don't love every aspect of the show, but I can 30x through the parts I find boring. I hope they pick it up again.

I enjoy watching Fox Football Friday from time to time. It's the "Wayne's World" of Soccer programming.
The thing is, it tried waaaay too hard and didn't allow itself to generate a personality.
I refer you to a show that used to be on Speedvision, called Inside Winston Cup Racing. Both the network and the show have changed (Speed Channel, and NASCAR Inside Nextel Cup), but the production values haven't. Small, cramped set in Charlotte where you can hear the occasional sounds of the trash truck emptying the dumpster and where, last week, you could hear a crew power-washing the outside of the building.
The personalities aren't forced: A clean-cut host tries to analyze the weekend's racing with three differing personalties: Mikey Waltrip (the goofy cut-up), Ken Schrader (who has to put up with Mikey's antics), and Johnny Benson (the brains).
It's been a wonderful show for nine years, and supposedly they're changing personnel in the next few months. The SpeedTV boards are in an uproar over this.
To me, the Nick and Steven combination really didn't seem as real as the FanZone shows -- which would be a great addition to MLS! Have Andy Mead and Sachin Shah do a United-Wizards telecast, for example!

I'm a NASCAR fan and I've seen the show you are talking about. Unfortunately, I no longer get Speed Channel on my cable package. And I'm too cheap to upgrade. But anyway. Your point is well taken. The drivers all come off as totally natural. And Nick and Steven never did.

The way they tried to provide analysis of Argentinan, French, and German (plus any other leagues that get 1 game a week) was really pathetic. It was like "Oh, teams A, B, and C are doing well in League X because they are in first, second and third, and teams P, Q, and R are doing bad because they're about to be relegated." Followed by some crap quality fuzzy highlights from 6 months ago and then one of them would babble on about how there was a big game this week because the top 2 teams in the league were playing.
At least if they're gonna bring back this show, they should let these guys talk about what they "know" and what all the callers ask about (MLS and Premiership).
