That was possibly the most boring two weeks I can remember. Finally we get back to the games. Sorry content on arsenalamerica.com has been short. Will get it up and running again with the resumption of play. Look for an Everton preview later tonight, and check out a new Spursenfreude just posted.

Cheers,

Rick

Am I losing the plot? There is a strange haze envoloping this message board in the absence of any regular fixtures thank heavens were getting back to normal.

1. Spurs-DC United(?!) In what poor soul's awful nightmare was that one dreamed up!

2. I just read about a red-shirted dino on the "arsenalamerica" website. I suppose this is to be expected as people suffering from extreme circumstances, two weeks without the Gunners for instance, often results in hallucinations of the vivid sort that would result in a Miss Prunella Face. I'm sure normality can be restored.

3. And this is especially troubling, who in the heck is 'Patrick 1234'? Is this someones idea of a joke? Patrick are you completely demented?

I'm looking forward to the Everton preview...

And yes I agree, let's get back to the games that really matter. Not a bunch of pathetic countries that can only cause injury to Premeirship players, in meaningless matches.
And no I not a joke. Just a lost uneducated new fan of english football.

Patrick

Thanks for clearing that up

By the way, 'Spursenfreude' is suitable for framing, you've really outdone yourself! I was litreally choking on my lunch trying to read through it. Hilarious!

Later,
Patrick As someone who lists as one of his teams England and Ireland, I find this comment idiotic. You're just beginning to annoy me now.

Well what if he has English and irish roots? Whats wrong with that? My only concern is he chooses a team to support and sticks with it. None of this bandwagon jumping around like some people in the states do.

However, take this quote:

If you profess to support England and/or Ireland, or any other European team for that matter, how can you think that the Euro 2004 qualfying series is pathetic?

England vs. Slovakia! I know that we are facing inferior competition also increased chance of getting injuried. Last years Champion League, tail end it seemed like players were dishing out some "ROUGH" challenges because the World Cup was near...ie injury to Beckham.
That's all I was trying to say.

What? And you think these things are not inextricably entwined? Ha!

Im sorry I really screwed up on the preview but my schedule has Arsenal at home against Everton. Imagine my embarrassment when I flip on the tele and we are at Goodison Park.

Imagine my embarrassment at not taking the time to double-check your review! Good writers need good editors. I let you down.

Hey, I did make a special mention of Wayne Rooney and the f****r burned us on a 28 yard strike to win the game. Got one thing right!

Patrick, what cloud have you been living on when you say England was facing inferior competition? England had a tough time with Slovakia and Macedonia. Both of them are minnows. Perhaps England thinks too highly of itself.

Did you notice who the stars of Arsenal are?
Hint: They are not English.

Hint: They are not English. Huh? Campbell and Cole were English last time I checked. Oh, maybe this was your clever way of pointing out that Arsenal have an abundance of foreign players. Unlike ManUre - besides Cantona, Barthez, Blanc, Silvestre, Stam, Van Nistelrooy, Irwin, Keane, Giggs, Solskaer, and Forlan, among others. (By the way, I threw that last one in there for comic relief.)

Dwinkler, I meant the stars of Arsenal, not England. Pires when he is healthy, is the star of the club and the last time I checked, was the Premiership player of the year, last year. Henry is not too shabby either. Neither is Viera, Silva, Lungberg, Kanu or Bergkamp. It's a calvalcade of stars.

This again?? OK, let's list the first elevens. And I'm not talking about anyone's opinions, we can be pretty sure that these are the sides that would be sent out if all players are fit, regardless of what our personal preferences are.

Arsenal: Seaman, Lauren, Keown, Campbell, Cole, Ljungberg, Vieira, Silva, Pires, Bergkamp, Henry.

Man Utd.: Barthez, G. Neville, Ferdinand, Blanc, Silvestre, Beckham, Scholes, Keane, Giggs, van Nistelrooy, Solskjaer.

Looks like four English players each to me. This Man Utd. thing about having a whole bunch of English players in their side is just rubish and we all know it.

No, Wildman262 is just obsessed with highlighting that [snotty voice]all the BEST players in England are foreign[/snotty voice]. An arguement that makes so much sense he has to drag it out everywhere now. I for one don't really give a crap. As long as they are great players and wear the Red and White of Arsenal Football Club, they can be from anywhere. They could all be from one block from White Hart Lane or from Manchester as long as they do well for Arsenal, who gives a f***!

Good Grief. You guys are so bloody sensitive. Any mention of a foreign player in the Premiership gets your dander up.

Why is any discussion of these players received with such hostility? I have not insulted anyone. I merely named some players who I think have some real quality in their play.
