Really looking forward to this match. I'm sure there will be a lot of who should start posts but I would like to see somebody come up with a tactic to get Jaime, Alecko or Freddy one v. one on Parkhurst. Matchups will be key. We need to be able to get bodies on Twellman, Noonan, Joseph and Dempsey on set pieces. Last two games were lost or tied because we didn't. The Rev's are unbeaten and untied at home and nobody has scored against them in the Razor. I believe we will break at least two of those streaks.
2-2 draw.

Is Stokes back?

We could definitely use his size on set pieces. Problem is that Prideaux's size is needed also. What do we do if Namoff is ready to go????

How do folks feel about not changing a thing.
Keep things how they were on Saturday and sub as necessary.
I'd like to see how one type of formation does against several different teams.

Who played so terribly on Saturday they deserve to sit this one out?

Gonna be a fun game. I thought after the last time we played that you and New England were 1-2 in the Conference (of course, in my biased mind, we're #1). Should be a barn-burner. Should any of you guys be attending, stop by the tailgate, you'll get a beer or two. Once we're inside the Mausoleum, though.. you're the enemy ;)

God, I want a win from this one. I'm still convinced that New England was lucky to get out of here with a win last time because that %#&*! Twellman gave Stoksie a concussion.

Avenge him Dema!!!!

I hate the Revs so much after that game.

New England is due for a stinker. I hope it is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

Is Stokes back?

What if he is? It's not like he's gonna play ahead of Prideaux, much less play ahead of Namoff.

Pints is right- Nowak goes with the same starting lineup unless he wants Namoff starting.

I agree with your comments about looking forward to this match, and I also expect DC to score here and end the scoreless streak at home for the Revs. But I don't remember (and considering I'm turning realllllllllly old on Friday, it's understandable) too many set piece goals in the last two games by the Revs. Obviously we had one PK in each of the two games, but I honestly seem to remember the other 5 goals we've scored in the two games as being during the run of play. Of course, I have been known to be wrong.

3 of your 4 goals against us were during the run of play.
Mind you....we were using one of our midfielders and for a brief period a forward as our right back. That will not be the case on Saturday.
It will be a completely different game. Of course you all have that whole "confidence", "coming off a winning streak", "we're number one" crap going on :D

Well if you read the Rev's boards, they're predicting an asswhooping. Hope the team logs on to BigSoccer. ;)

Okay, so I am remembering correctly. Good, I was worried that old age was hitting a couple of days early.

And trust me, with our history, I don't think the "confidence," "winning streak" etc mean anything. Hell, we're not even used to those words! :o

I expect the same lineup as last week. We can't just sit back and defend, we need to keep the pressure up on both ends of the field for all 90 minutes. The only player I worry about is Benny, not his level of play, but I think he lacks the conditioning to go 90 minutes on the wing with his style of play. I would expect him to come out around the 65 or 70 minute mark for Dema.

Actually, a quick look through the pregame thread on Revs boards only shows two scores predicted, one 3-2 Revs win, one 2-0. Not quite an asswhooping. I think most of us are very nervous for this game. But then again, we're nervous every game.

Well at least you guys are humble....not to say we like you or anything.
Personally I predict a shock when you guys, oddly enough for the first time this season, see a little number 1 in the L category come Sunday morning. :D

I didn't feel that Eski played all that great. I think I would like to have Jaime up top by himself with Gomez and Adu in support right behind him. When Jaime gets winded around the 60 minute replace him with Eski. Put Olsen and Gros out on the wings like the last game. I also think we need to flood the middle more against NE and would like to have Carrol and Sims play as defensive midfielders. If not Carrol then put Dema in there for as long as he can go and then put Carrol in. I thought Sims did pretty well last game. Keep Brandon in the defense and Stokes on the bench. Maybe sub Namoff in if need be.

nicky
Brandon, Bobby, Petke
Carroll or Dema, Sims
Gros Gomez Adu Olsen
Moreno

This should be a very good and entertaining game.
