On the Saturday Night edition of Sportscenter, Josh's goal
was the #3 play of the day on sportscenter. Even the anchors were impressed as they didnt make the usual degrading soccer jokes. We're movin on up folks!

While I'm glad to see DCU get some exposure, this isn't the first time Sportscenter has featured an MLS goal. Once in awhile, they'll give props--but then, most casual sports fans who don't care for soccer like seeing great goals, they just don't find much of interest in the rest of the game.
When a great give-and-go--or even a great save--makes the Top 10, then we'll know we're making progress.

Gros had the #3 goal of the week on Sky Sports as well.

No kidding.
I was watching the Fox Sports Channel. They had the top 10 goals in the world and that was #3.
I think Freddy has something to do w/that.
Regardless, it was a clinical and spectacular goal by Freddy, Ben, and Josh.

Gros Goal earns top play recognition
Second-year winger Josh Gros found more than the back of the Columbus net with a picturesque diving-header on Saturday night. Gros's second score of the year finished No. 3 on Saturday night's version of ESPN SportsCenter's top plays.
"I still have work to do. After all, I was beaten by a horse," quipped Gros in response to Kentucky Derby Winner Giacomo who was No. 1 on SportsCenter's Top Ten plays. The spectacular finish is also one of five goals nominated for Major League Soccer's Sierra Mist Goal of the Week.

When I saw it, the announcer said, I think "Grossy always gets it done."
Makes it sound like he's a star, but how he earned that nickname is beyond me.
A WBA PK goal against ManU was also in that top 10, not sure why though.

It was because of the goalscorer's celebration, I think. He was doing a bunch of flips and stuff. Their comments in the fake english accents were classic.

The guy who announced that play, Fred Hickman, is the biggest dooshbag. He is a sorry excuse for an anchor. He called Columbus "Columbia". He's just sorry.

I was surprised when he resurfaced on ESPN. I thought he was exiled to doing local sports on some market about the size of Roanoke, VA after CNN/SI folded.

Well deserved IMO. It was a great goal not just on Josh's part but Ben and Freddy. Congrats Josh! You earned it!

After seeing the diving header from the Lyon game as #8, I knew Josh's deserved a slot.

I think the PK goal was there for the player's crazy celebration.

If Gros' goal isn't the first candidate for Goal of the Year, I don't know what is. Hope it doesn't go to his head. :D
