Young Fred got the start on Saturday and broke out in a big way against Columbus, providing a goal and two assists. The big questions: Do Adu and Jaime Moreno need to go to couples counseling? Could those guys have looked any less enthusiastic toward each other after they both scored last week? And will there be any point when the ongoing Spy-vs.-Spy game between Adu and the Crew's Frankie Hejduk ceases to be unintentionally hilarious? Stay tuned.
I too have noticed Freddy and Jaime's lack of, how should I put this...camaraderie?
A pissing contest between these two will do nothing for the team. I hope Nowak is ready to be the adult here.

Just trade Alecko, let Freddy have the 11 shirt, and let Jaime go back to being #9. :)

Don't worry about it, remember the Yankees teams of the 1970's with Reggie Jackson and Thurman Munson? We should all wish for such lack of camaraderie.

Careful, there. We wouldn't want to piss off the club's Armenian fan base. There's at least three of us you know...

His comments about the Metrostars were hilarious.

In MLS a pissing contest between Moreno and Adu can only end one way - with Moreno losing.
But I suspect that's part of the reason this pissing contest exists.

Completely. There's no story here folks... move along. Grant Wahl trying to be cutsie is just dumb.

Tell me, what can a man in his thirties who is from the jungles of Bolivia have in common with a 15 y.o. black kid from west Africa by way of the burbs? Do you think they compare and contrast soca music with hip-hop? Does Jaime give dating advice to Freddy?
Heck, Moreno's likely intimidating as all get-out to Freddy. Also he is likely a judgemental voice telling him what to do, and we all know how kids his age love that. No, they probably aren't best friends. Santino's probably the only one on the team who Freddy can identify with. And maybe Nana.
And thank God for Kwame Brown for letting us know just how immature someone younger than us can be.

You don't have to like each other to play together. I really don't care if they hate each other off the field as long as it doesn't impact how they play on the field or locker room dynamics.

As long as they keep setting up goals for each other, who cares?
They didn't celebrate together but I'm not sure that's such a big deal.
After Freddy scored Jaime tried to set him up for another goal when he should have taken the shot himself.

Musta missed something?
I don't think Jackson had anything to do with his demise, a private plane crash in Kentucky if memory serves? Unless you suggest a nefarious connection...

No, it was just a bad joke. The crash (Canton, OH - Munson's hometown - not Kentucky) wasn't a malfunction. Munson was flying a plane that was far too advanced for his skill level as a pilot.

Thanks for the explanation. Being someone whose wit is sometimes more subtle than my audience can perceive (otherwise known as not being as funny as I would like to think), I can appreciate a man who can admit to a bad joke.
Rep for perspecuity.
