Hello all what do you all think of possiably grabing Van der Vaart from Ajax? Yeahs or Neys? A better alternative? :)

To me it depends on the cost, but I think he'd tear up the SPL. Then again, if Bellamy is staying (I haven't followed the news on him), the money might be better spent elsewhere.

Unless you can convince Ajax that it's in their best interests to give him to you for free, even though you don't really want him so you'd be doing them a favour...not a chance.

Personally I think Ronaldinho would be a better option
Well, St. Mirren tried to sign him :D

Would love to have him at Parkhead, but we have to be realistic, there will
not be a lot (if any) money being available by the Celtic (tightwads) board.
Bellamy if signed will take up most of the money that is available. We
need new players at the back and in goal as a priority in spending. Maybe
some Rangers players will want to defect in the summer to play for the SPL
Champions  :D .

If we can get Bellamy then that will go a long way to using up the budget I'm sure.

Celtic should concentrate on getting their wage bill down and not spending such ridiculous amounts on wages. £40 million a year! Only 4 Premiership clubs pay more!
Celtic's board aren't tight, they just bow to all these stupid wage demands. Like £40,000 a week for Juninho. Yeah great move MoN :D

I was more upset by Lambert.
Another reason for investing in sorting out the Scottish game.

Lambert ,McNamara will be gone so that will free up some wages,Douglas
days may be numbered if we get that new keeper. But new faces are
needed if we are to make a better run in europe.

Wow, I would find him going there hard to believe. He's been linked with Hamburg recently...and I'm sure he'd try to get a move to one of the 'big leagues' probably now. Scotland is kind of on par with Holland, prolly not the move he wants.

We're just dreaming mate, we'd need to kidnap him before we could get him up here :) nice thought all the same. We do need to sort out the wages as someone said.
