Let's be honest, this is going to be Ibaņez last WC qualifier, I think he's like 37 now, who do you guys think should be his succesor. Me personally, I want to see Butron as the next NT goalkeeper, he's much more mature than Delgado and doesn't get in word wars like Flores does. Forsyth and Bazan also should get a chance.

I haven't seen more insecurity in the NT goal, since Rubinos, like I did in the 1st 2 games of this WCQ with Delgado.

Even when not having direct involvement with the plays, Delgado transmitted insecurity ... thank God we came back against Paraguay.

I remember saying that Chile did not deserve to win ... come on 1 shot and 2 goals? ... because the 2nd was not even a shot on goal.

It will be tuff ... but I saw Butron with Alianza and didn't convince me. As to Flores ... your coach tells you how you have to behave yourself regarding your profession. If it bothers the coach, Chiquito would shut up. Or leave the team. In La U they let him talk, no one cares.

First of all i'd like to welcome you to bigsoccer. :) (btw, my uncles lives in New Haven, you probably know him)
And yeah, I agree with you.. Butron is probably the best keeper right now in Peru and should be the successor of Ibanez who will not be playing for the NT after these qualifiers.
Delgado is too imature.. he's young and he's not ready for the NT. But he's good enough to be on the bench. But in all honesty, before Delgado I think Flores needs to be the second keeper for Peru... the man has proved it and deserves it. Just look at the games he has played away.. he's amazing away.

erick delgado was unfairily punished for the chile game, ive never seen worse defending no presure on the jumper or the guy making the cross

hes got talent and needs the right coach to steer him in the right direction

his time will come in the 2010 qualifiers he would be 26 or 27 then

its leao butron's time now since he was at alianza atletico hes proved secure

juan flores should be on the bench, as long as ibanez isnt in the squad, whats chiquitos problem anyway?

forsyth has left boys and bazan is sitting on the bench(apparently sullana want him back)

chiquito flores' problems is that he said that he hates IBANEZ cuz when both of them played in la U , IBVANEZ and him were always looking to be the starter, and IBANEZ always was the starter, thats all. I dont know why to make such a scandal for being the bench goalie, anyway saturday when thye played IBANEZ didnt even look at chiquito , and chiquito didnt look at IBANEZ, I dunno how old is chiquito, bur IBANEZ is 38.

And about who should be the NT goalie , I think Butron , but if u see one of hte cienciano's goal in the AL 6- CC 2 , was a blooper, and its ok to have a bloopers when you wionnning by 5 goals , but what if this happpens in an important NT game?? Abouta Delgado hes better now, he needs a lil more practice and a good coach. Also this guy DIEGO PENNY , I think is hisname, he plays at BOLOGNESI DE TACNA, he's kinda good, he needs to be in a better team to get experince, IDK how old is him.

another goalie I wanna throw out there is Pablo Perez this guy is good and when he played in da "U" was awesome, too bad he didn't stay longer. To answer the question though: in home games I like Butron, and in away games (when we need more spice to fire up our players) Flores.

Pablo Perez plays for Cesar Vallejo now, so does Mesa Cuadra and a bunch of ex-U players are in that team, so does Saraz from Cienciano and Roberto Holsen, they have a good squad, I dont know why they're not doing better. Vasallo use to play in Europe for teams like Juventus and some other English and French team but never in the first team, only for the reserves, he should've gotten some experience from that.

i think bazan would be the next feasible option, but he needs to move up on out of the B divison in spain :(

butron is the more immediate option though.

pablo perez had a good libertadores back when la u last competed after that his level has gone down, he is still good, just not nt good anymore

penny is still young turns 21 this year

bazan needs to get game time somewhere

the order for ibanez replacement would be

butron
flores
delgado
the rest

also vasallo was signed by roma and immidiatly loaned out to a second division french team, after that he went to palermo

are you talking about ternero?

the euro players dont want to play this tourney they need some rest so ternero is taking what he thinks are the top 4 fowards currently in peru vasallo is arguably one of them

Yeah I meant Ternero, I've heard of Vasallo before like years ago. Havent really seen him play on Sport boys, so I dont know if he's one of the top forwards.
