Players and their boots

I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed recently that, some players aren't wearing the latest boots their sponsor has given them. For example, Steven Gerrard of Liverpool is now wearing the classic black/red/white pulses and not the Gunmetal or Red ones which, you would expect he'd wear as he is one of Adidas' top icons for boot sponsorship. Also Andy Cole of Arsenal- couple of weeks ago he was wearing the cybers, but now he's back to his red/pearl ones. Again, Andy Cole is a top Adidas icon, and I know this maybe a stupid question, and that one would presume its just "their" preference to wear the other colourway, but you'd imagine that Adidas, in this case, would get slightly annoyed because they always want to promote their latest boot, in Cole's case, the Cyber, and Gerrard's presumably the Gun-metal. Maybe it is pure preference, but I was just wondering about your thoughts on the issue.

Steven Gerrard is wearing the latest Predator Pulses from adidas. They are the predator pulse 2 they look similar from far. but if u get closer ull find out the vamps on the preds are actually clear red (transparent, like beckham's preds) instead of a classic solid red. These boots are already avaliable here in hong kong, im not sure about overseas.

Would you be able to post a picture of the Pulse IIs.I knew they looked similar but havent heard anything about the vamps.Cheers.

Notice the vamps. The second pic shows that the vamps are clear red over a solid red on the first pic. I hope u can see a difference. I saw the actual boot, so i can see it clearly. And also the leather on Pulse II seems smoother and softer with less grain.
