First, and second, two weeks in a row with no Quakes highlights (or even highlights of our opponants). And now they pick up today's goal from Davis' cross and completely ignore Dwayne DeRosario (again -- remember the goal of the week candidate that no one else saw) who somehow saw Davis' run in a crystal ball and found the open space with that absolutely sublime back heel that split two defenders. Give me a #$*%@() break!

Yeah I agree. That was a ********ing ridiculous pass. DeRo is pure class. Can't believe he hasn't started everygame (though I hate to see Clark on the bench).

Guess I won't bother setting the Tivo for it this week.

Are you saying there were no highlights this week, or are you talking about previous weeks? There were definitely highlights this week.

On the goal, yeah, on the highlights they showed the goal only from Davis' cross, but at the end when they showed the nominees for goal of the week they picked it up from DeRo's pass....and on the closing credits they showed it again.

I'm still trying to figure out how KC scored 3 goals on Dallas.....hopefully that's a good sign for us next week.

I bet you're right. The league will want Adu's goal to win so they won't have any other strong nominees -- at least if they're consistent with their past actions.

WHO? Never heard of 'im!

(Besides, at this point I think they have more to gain by promoting Freddy, who I'll admit had a fantastic game...)

I was talking about the previous two weeks. And I guess last week the Quakes were on the live broadcast but I caught the replay, and they joined it in progress after the Chelsea celebration, so no Quakes for me.

As for the GOTW and the credits I was long gone by then.

I'm not even sure the guy reading the script this year even bothers to watch the highlights.

And I'm praying for a shutout this afternoon by former roommate Joe Cannon.

MLS Wrap just seems cold and impersonal now. No studio hosts, nothing much but highlights. On one hand, at least there's still a highlight show at all, but man, why did they have to scale it back so much?

The new weekend sports anchor on Channel 11 was particularly funny (as in bad) last night on the 11 o'clock news. When he got to the Quakes, he said, "The Quakes were in Big D tonight, where they beat the Dallas MetroStars 1-0." I honestly don't even remember if he showed a highlight after that (I think he did), I was howling at the TV too much.

I too noticed this. Max goebbles has swallowed up MLS wrap as part of his Galaxy propaganda. He "vanished" the SJ-KC hilites so nobody would see Dwayne DeRosario score a great goal. Which would have knocked Cobi's gotw into 2nd place. I was really surprised when I did see the hilites how good a goal it was. An awful dishonest thing to do. I guess DeRo really got to Max as he keeps coming up with gotw moments. Max Bretos needs to be fired. & then kick his a$s.

Agree with you - it's actually pretty painful to watch.....

what did I tell ya? GOTW.. Quakes nowhere to be found, is this the 4th in a row? I mean it wasn't that difficult of a goal, but the placement was great, impossible for Wells to get it.. they are blinded by DC and FC

not MLS wrap, but my wife and I were watching the local news Saturday night (and I have no idea why, incidentlly) but the guy said the Quakes were in Big D to take on the Dallas MetroStars, trying to win their third game. And the quakes did, winning 3 our of their last 4.
of course, they're 2-1-3. but whatever.

all together, a pathetic display. but at least they had quakes highlights and that's something, i guess.

True -- I'd rate the DeRo-Davis-Cerritos hookup over either of the FCD goals (nice touch from O'Brien, though). To be fair, the diving header by Gros is clearly the best of the week and it's leading the voting.

The funny thing about that one, though, is the commentary by Harkes. Gros scores an amazing diving header and all Harkes can talk about during the replay is Adu's initial pass. It was Adu's best game in a DC uniform but Harkes should give credit where it's due.
