I'm watching your coverage of Chivas - RSL.

Did I hear you say "Guzano" and "El Classico Expansiono" ??

Have you been taking lessons from the Max Bretos School of Over-pronouncing??

Yeah, you'd think so.

But it doesn't sound like Max, and I know the graphic said Christian Miles.

Christian Miles needs to drop the Bretos imitation indeed. But maybe he just sucks as bad as Bretos?

Guzano actually is Guzan's nickname. It's fairly de rigueur at this point.

Read El Guzano's entry here to find out what it means in Spanish. (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=195312)

I was convinced it was Bretos, anyway whoever it was the pair of them are idiots.

Christian Miles does the Chivas USA games for FSN West (which aired on Direct Kick).

Max Bretos and Allen Hopkins called the game on FSC.

They've been calling him Guzano all season and it sounds incredibly forced. I don't care if they want to be a Spanish-language team, but do your damn broadcasts in Spanish if that's the case instead of having Christian Miles turn everything into a Spanish name. Those two guys are horrid.

I'm not a big fan of them, and it's especially awful when they broadcast together. They sound too much alike, so I always think that it's one guy talking to himself.

Could they have gotten a bigger gringo to do the games of a hispano-centric club?

I mean, there's whitebread, and then there's Christian Miles. And the overpronunciation of hispanic names is comical when Bretos does it, but it's re-goddamn-diculous when Miles does it.

I couldn't agree more Brian.

Those two are an absolute train wreck..

You would figure that the PBP guy would actually know how many goals a certain player has scored during a season when they barely score goals to begin with.

Hector Cuadros scored his second goal of the season on the penalty on Saturday and despite the graphic on the screen saying it was his second goal, dufus Miles kept saying it was his first.

A pretty petty argument mind you, but it underscores how bad this duo is.

Dear Christian:

If you're going to go to great lengths to overpronounce the hispanic names on Chivas USA (like Ryan soo-WHARR-ay-sssss), why not make it a point to accurately pronounce non-hispanic names?

Like the defender for FC Dallas - it's not Chris Guh-BONN-dee, jackass. He's been in the league for a while. It's pronounced BONN-dee. You don't pronounce the "G" that begins his surname.

Oh, and a question - you got Carolyn Hughes' phone number handy? She's hot.

Never have I been happier to listen to the dulcet tones of Brad Sham on FSN Southwest.

Seriously, this whole Chivas USA TV thing is one big headscratcher.

So when they joined the league, you figured that they were going to have their games on Spanish TV, given the demographic that they're targeting. Nope, they went in together with the Galaxy on a deal on FSN West.

OK, fine, so they're going to have commentary in Spanish, right? Nope.

OK, so they're going to have Spanish commentary on the Secondary Audio Program, right? Nope.

But they're going to at least have somebody who's bilingual doing their commentary, so that he can handle the names and the promotional spots without sounding like a total gringo, right? Nope, they've got Christian Miles, also known as "Whitey McGringo."

Honest to God, I think I've found the one and only case where Max Bretos would actually be an improvement.

I heard that FSN wanted the Galaxy, but in order to get the rights to air their games, they had to pick up Chivas which they didn't want.

Still, at least you'd think they'd get someone, anyone, who could prounounce those names.

And Brad Sham is simply the best. Direct Kick should automatically pick up FSN Southwest, no matter what.

Miles does sound a hell of a lot like Bretos, but I know Miles does the French games, and he said, during the Lille v Ajaccio game, that there were only two CL spots available (and he said this multiple times). He kept on talking about how Lille needed to win the game to "stay in contention for the CL," even though they basically had it clinched. I'm sorry, but when it's your ********ing job to know these things, you better know them.
