PSG Snap Up 'Problematic' Duo
Uruguayan media have reported that French club Paris Saint Germain have signed Penarol duo Carlos Bueno and Cristian Rodriguez.
Both players were part of the Uruguay squad that finished third in last years Copa America, and are also part of the Uruguayan squad fighting for a position in next years World Cup.
Striker Carlos Bueno (25) has represented the Uruguayan national team 15 times, scoring an impressive 9 goals. He has been at Penarol since 1999.
Cristian Rodriguez (19) an attacking midfielder has represented the national team 8 times and has been at Penarol since 2001.
The two players have not played for Penarol for the last four months as they rebelled against not being given better contracts after their impressive displays.
The Uruguayan giants had no other option than to terminate their contracts and the situation has not been resolved for over six months and now the case is in the hands of FIFA.
PSG have reportedly signed the problematic duo for a sum superior to $6 million

Rodriguez is the player to watch, as I'm informed by our South American friends...
Bueno shoudl be a good addition to the front-line.
But they are prone to Anelka like outbursts.....

Paris St Germain are involved in a dispute (http://www.sportinglife.com/football/overseas/france/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=international_feed/05/07/20/SOCCER_Fra-Paris_St_Germain.html) with Penarol over the signings of Uruguay internationals Carlos Bueno and Christian Rodriguez.
Bueno, a 25-year-old striker, and Rodriguez, a 19-year-old midfielder, put pen-to-paper on four-year contracts with PSG late on Tuesday.
However, the duo's former club insist that the players' registrations still belong to them and the case may now go before FIFA.
"Both players were free but there is still a little judicial problem," PSG president Pierre Blayau told www.lequipe.fr.
"Both Uruguayans are in an open conflict with Penarol. When they left Uruguay to come to Europe 10 days ago, the Uruguayan club declared that they still belonged to them and seemed reluctant to make things easy for them."
PSG sporting director Jean-Michel Moutier claims that PSG were within their rights to sign the players and will be asking the Uruguayan Football Federation to sign their release forms.
"We are doing things in order," Moutier added.
"We are going to ask for the release letter (to the Uruguayan Federation). Our advisers have assured us that we had done things properly."
Meanwhile, Bueno and Rodriguez are eager to start their new life in Paris.
"This is a big change of life for us," Bueno said.
"This is another country, another type of football and we are going to have to adapt.
"The first contacts with the players and the staff went well. Our integration should be fast. We had been in contact with PSG for a while and we really wanted to join this club.
"PSG was the club of Rai and Ronaldinho. Like them we want to write our names in the club's history."
Rodriguez feels that moving to France with his former Penarol team-mate will help them both to settle at their new club.
"It's very important to be coming together, especially for the spirit," he added.
"We are friends and we will do all we can to impose our style here."
PSG are currently in Divonne-les-Bains for a week's training and will start Ligue 1 action on July 30 at the Parc des Princes against Metz.

Benachour quits the capital
Thursday 21 July, 2005 (http://www.channel4.com/sport/french_football/jul21h.html)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Playmaker Selim Benachour has quit Paris Saint-Germain after five seasons to join Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes.
The highly-rated Tunisian international has repeatedly failed to impose himself at the Parc des Princes since joining the club as a teenager in 2000, making just nine appearances last season and scoring a solitary penalty.
Loaned out to Troyes, two seasons ago, Benachour, 23, chose to join the Portuguese side for one season – with an option for another season – after turning down Ligue 1 club Ajaccio.
Benachour will wear the number 81 shirt with his new team

Hope we didn't miss out there, but you can't have everything...

I think its been disappointing. We have had several players that have gone to other clubs and have said we were interested in them. Demont and Bergougnoux are the ones that stick out.
I must admit, I looking foward to seeing Edixon Perea play for Bodeaux next season. The guy has some serious talent and was doing a TV interview for a programme on the Colombian national team on the BBC last week.
Good luck to him. I would have loved him at the Parc, but.... easy come easy go. We'll probably pay 12m for him next season.

Demont was the player PSG needed most.. He could've replaced Fiorese very well. But Landrin is good enough.

Jean Hugues Ateba from Paris could go to ESTAC, one of the three teams which came back in ligue1. In fact, their coach, Jean Marc Furlan wants to have a solid defense. He had supervised a greek too.
