In my opinion Clement and Makelele can't play together. It was somehow the same problem with Toulalan and Makelele. They both have the same profile, Clement can't go forward. It would be better to have someone to make the link between the defense and the midfield.

It's pretty hard to know which system PLG will use since it might change with our future signings.

Anyway, our weaker point will be Ceara. His lack of tactical knowledge creeps me out.

-------------Landreau----------
Ceara---Camara---Basa (?)---Armand
-------------Makelele-------------
-------Sessegnon---Rothen-------
Giuly-------------------------(?)
---------Hoarau (Pizzaro? Gudjohnsen?)

But we would need 1 more forward to play on the left side...

Well, I don't know.

Don't know if anyone saw this yesterday : http://www.francefootball.fr/FF/breves2008/20080722_223924_pizarro-proche-du-psg_Dev.html

Pretty much says that he's not in Scolari's plans and is a possibility for PSG

I think PLG will play Clement and Makelele together. It seems that Sessegnon is being seen as the offensive midfielder and Le Guen showed last season that he liked to play two holding midfield players (Clement/Digard and later Clement/Bourillon). Also Clement is Le Guen's protege, he took him to Rangers and then to Paris, so I can't see him being left out of the team.

I totally agree about Ceara, I remember watching the Coupe de la Ligue final and feeling that every time there was an attack down the right we were going to concede. However, given that Ceara was only brought in in January, I can't see a new RB being signed, which may cost us some goals during the season.

Yes Chelsea will even offer him at a reduced rate but there are other teams who are interested in him as well like Real Betis.

I keep forgetting about Sessegnon. I know nothing about him since he played for Le Mans but I'd expect him to be out there a lot in the middle doing some damage. He could be the pleasant surprise of the team.

I don't like the idea of having so many players over 30, and had Thuram joined us, it would have meant two players over 35, at a high price.... but we'll see how things go in the next weeks for the season.

I was actually thinking the same thing except when you look at the older players we've recruited, they seem to get the fact that they're also coming in to educate and prepare the younger players whom have come through the system. I like the mix alot and keep in mind that unlike a certain league - Ligue 1 doesn't have a bazillion matches, so it's a hell of alot less taxing on the system - our older players will be fine.

I haven't been this excited about a PSG season since the early 90's and Le Guen played for PSG then -- lol. Another forward would be nice but I'm giving Peggy the benefit of the doubt for last season. He has a knack for being in the right place at the right time and I hope with the new players and changes, he'll be a bright spot this season.

Now what does anyone know about Sébastien Puygrenier? Apparently PSG is in the mix for this defender and could get him.

Putain Rennes!!! I'm convinced it's a Lacombe special and they're mad for not taking the offer.

Ceara signed at PSG during the past summer transfer window. Souza and Everton were transferred to PSG on winter. According to l'equipe, Everton went to Fluminense on loan and Souza was officially lent to Gremio.

By the way, PSG need Luyindula as substitute. We are weak in depth.

I am a Liverpool fan (Liverpool just signed N'Gog) and wandering if David N'Gog is any good

bof, to me he'll be another S.Pongolle and le Tallec, getting burned too early

He has been hyped for years as the next best thing, but he has never shown it. I'll admit, it is hard to show anything given our circumstances, however others have done better, and even PLG admitted that David has gotten behind on his progression.
To top it off, despite our efforts to extend his contract (ending next year), he kept asking for much more than his efforts have justified, so we prefered to sell him now and get over with it.

He's tall, but hasn't shown much with his head. He's fast, but hasn't used it in his advantage. He is pretty slim, meaning he often gets pushed around, and from what he has played, doesn't have any particular dribbling skills.
Could he do better in a team like Liverpool? I'm sure he could. Can you expect him to be this year's breakout star? absolutely not.
Given Liverpool's squad, I doubt he'll be able to do anything substantial for at least 2 or 3 seasons, too much competition for him, but if things go right for him, I am sure he'll be able eventually to become the star people have predicted him to become. Unfortunately, few have been able to successfully achieve a move abroad at such an young age.

I am really surprised that not only Liverpool showed interest in him, but that he accepted the offer.
So what I have to say to Liverpool fans is not to expect too much of him, and wait for a year or two before judging him.

Why not go after Piquionne? Isn't he unhappy at Monaco?

have you guys seen Boniek train yet with PSG???

on planetepsg, the psg fansite I am active in, a person who was at the training yesterday, said that Boniek Garcia was very active, used his right foot well, and was congratulated for his good performance by the staff.

I see you support a Hondurian team. Do you know more about this player, and do you think he could fit in the french league?

Rossgreen, why would we want Piquionne? We might just as well stick with Luyindula and Pancrate instead of spending money on another failure.

Now the newest rumors link us to Kezman. In fact they even sent Roche to Istanbul.. we can expect the worse from him :D

Kezmen knows Makalele from when they played at Chelsea so that could help in convincing him.

Okay, so no to Piquionne. What about Aruna Dindane? I bet he wouldn't mind getting out of Ligue 2.

Hey any rumors about Bryan Ruiz and a move to PSG? Read that he left a very good impression after the friendly KAA Gent and PSG played on saturday.

Rumors of Kezman to PSG? Dear Lord. Not to be a wet blanket but Kezman has been utter crap since he left PSV. ("I will score more goals than Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Henry.")

Granted he's starting to show a bit of that form again he is not a player I would go looking for if I were PSG. Then again I don't know how bad your forward problem is.

This is not only a rumor since Villeneuve confirmed PSG interest in Kezman.

PSG want Briand still but the Saint-Sernin refused our offer once again...There is also a rumor about Emir Spahic to reinforce our defense.

By the way, Dindane is recovering from a knee operation.

Patrick Muller

a France Football -
"...L'international suisse, libre de tout contrat et qui a refusé une offre de Grenoble, prend son mal en patience en espérant un pas du club de la capitale à la quête d'un défenseur central. « Peut-être que je ne suis pas la priorité du PSG aujourd'hui, mais cela peut changer dans les jours à venir. Si c'est le cas, c'est avec plaisir que j'irais jouer au Paris Saint-Germain."

Anyone hear anything about PSG being interested in Costa Rican midfielder Bryan Ruiz of Belgium club KAA Gent? There are a few sites that mention that PSG and other French teams might be interested in him after his performance against PSG last weekend...and his great performance last season in the Belgium league. Other clubs that have also shown interest are SC Heerenveen, Napoli, Olympiakos, and Anderlecht.
