WTF is going on at PSG? I didn't see any of this coming, especially since the mentality seems to be to spend only when the champions league is upon us. Either way, it's a good time to be a PSG supporter.

Lors de la présentation devant la presse du milieu de terrain Vikash Dhorasoo, le directeur sportif Jean-Michel Moutier, chargé du recrutement, a corroboré les déclarations de l'ancien Milanais concernant le poste qui lui sera dévolu sur le terrain.

Dhorasoo jouera au poste de milieu défensif et non dans le couloir droit comme milieu offensif. «Christophe Landrin a été recruté pour jouer à droite» a lancé Moutier. La concurrence sera rude devant la défense avec deux places pour quatre (Dhorasoo, Cana, Cissé et M'Bami).

Quatrième recure parisiennne, Dhorasoo ne devrait pas être le dernier à débarquer dans la capitale. Le PSG cherche toujours un attaquant pour épauler Pauleta. La cellule recrutement travaille sur «les noms parus dans la presse» comme celui par exemple de Roque Santa Cruz, le joueur du Bayern Munich. Le club parisien recherche un avant-centre athlétique et bon de la tête.

La piste Adebayor (Monaco) semble avoir été abandonnée. Même chose pour le jeune défenseur argentin Pablo Javier Zabaleta, vainqueur samedi du Mondial des moins de 20 ans. «Il ne viendra pas. Nous sommes déjà bien fournis au poste de latéral droit avec Mendy et Pichot» a répondu Jean-Michel Moutier.

Le PSG a décidément soif de transferts. Les dirigeants parisiens veulent encore recruter deux joueurs a vocations offensives : un attaquant de niveau international, et un jeune espoir offensif. Ce jeune espoir pourrait bien être Christian Rodriguez, un jeune international Uruguayen évoluant au Penarol Montevideo.

Annoncé comme un des grands espoirs du football dans son pays, Rodriguez a débuté sa carrière en première division a 16 ans et a reçu sa première sélection a 18 ! Il a aussi était distingué dernièrement par l’oscar du « Meilleur joueur Uruguayen 2004 ».

Mais Rodriguez est également polyvalent, il peut tout aussi bien jouer en milieu gauche qu’en numéro 10. Sur le terrain, il se révèle vif, technique et d’une remarquable lucidité.

Evidemment un joueur avec un tel potentiel attire les convoitises, et Penarol aurait déjà refuse une offre de 7 millions d’euros venu d’un grand club européen. Cependant, selon "le Parisien", Rodriguez est actuellement en conflit avec son club au sujet d’une éventuelle prolongation de contrat, et Paris pourrait jouer de ces tensions pour acquérir le joueur. De plus, Rodriguez est attiré par les sirènes européennes, et un passage au PSG ne serait sûrement pas pour lui déplaire.

I swear PSG love cutting salary. Get rid of current players and sign young unknown cheaper footballers....isn't that the current PSG strategy? If I'm wrong someone correct me.

In the past and more currently, then yes I would say so.

There is definetly a limit on the wages. Sorin turned us down due to the wages he wanted (read whatever else you want on this - it was wages) and in recent years we couldn't afford to keep Heinze or Ronaldinho because of their wage demands.

We should look to sign good young talent, keep them at the club for a few years and then sell them off for profit.

Its sad I know, but Ligue 1 will never be bigger than England, Spain or Italy - so all of our potentially better players will leave sooner or later (unless they want to stay and are happy here...)

But the only way to achieve this, is to have an army of scouts and a good youth academy (centre de formation) at the club - to reel off kids off the production line.

Easy way to this?

Invest.... and get schools signed up to programmes linked with the club. Young kids have to be growing up wanting to play for PSG and scouts should be there to nab them at a young age and get them wanting to wear the red and blue and play for the club...

It will take a while though. At Middlesbrough we are only seeing the fruit of our seeds after some 6 years of having a youth academy and system in place.

Paris should effecitively manage to get all the good young players in Paris. There is no othe rteam in direct competition in the area...

I know, but it is just so hard to swallow supporting a club that will be a minor league club unless they shell out some serious $$$. I say invest in youth academies like crazy, inject Paris and all of France with a total passion for PSG and years down the road they can spend. Until then, PSG will remain a feeder club for the big boys in Europe.

The impression is that Paris isn't a football city. PSG do get a very decent crowd, but from what I've read it's not a football city the way large Italian or Spanish cities are. The percentage of people in Paris or France that care very much about football is probably much lower than in these countries, which makes it hard for PSG to do what you ask and entrhall the French people like this.
I don't know for sure. Can one of our French posters enlighten us? what percentage of the population care about football?

Le Paris Saint Germain poursuit sa quête d’un attaquant pour épauler Pauleta la saison prochaine. Et selon Le Parisien, le brésilien de l’Atletico Paranaense Denis Marques constituerait une piste pour Jean-Michel Moutier, en charge du recrutement du club de la capitale. Ce jeune attaquant robuste inconnu en Europe serait, selon certains observateurs, un des futurs grands de la Seleção.

A noter que la cellule de recrutement parisienne serait toujours intéressée par l’Uruguayen Cristian Rodriguez.

Ces différentes pistes seraient en complément d’un buteur confirmé, le dossier Roque Santa Cruz étant toujours d’actualité. Comme annoncé par Pierre Blayau il y a quelques jours, Paris devrait donc recruter deux joueurs à vocation offensive. Cependant, les parisiens pourraient patienter jusqu’à la fin du mercato, le 31 août, pour recruter un grand attaquant, bénéficiant ainsi de la baisse des exigences financières des clubs.

Ogbeche to Celta Vigo?


Selon France Football, Barthelomew Ogbeche, le jeune attaquant international nigérian du PSG, agé de 20 ans, indésirable au PSG serait pisté par le Celta Vigo, promu cette saison en Liga. Le joueur, lancé par Luis Fernandez en 2001 sort de deux experiences en prêt mitigés à Bastia et Metz ou il n’aura finalement inscrit que 3 buts en 27 matchs.

Reste à voir si le club espagnol soumettra une offre de pret ou de transfert pour le jeune joueur.

Selon la presse uruguayenne, Carlos Bueno et Cristian Rodríguez (Penarol) auraient passé des tests satisfaisants du côté du PSG cette semaine. Etant en conflit avec leur club depuis plus de quatre mois, pour cause de divergences salariales et de non renouvellement de contrat, les deux joueurs ne peuvent apparemment pas signer dans l’immédiat. L’affaire est dans les mains de la Fédération uruguayenne.
