Looks like Middlesborough are trying to low-ball us for Digard.

They're offering €5M, we're holding out for €6M

Briand and Makalele are close to signing according to RMC. I guess the Thuram deal is dead ?

Also looks like Gerald Asamoah could replace Briand in Rennes.

Last I read Thuram said he had at least 3 other offers. So, he could just be taking time to negotiate the best deal. I'm still hopeful we can pull this one off.

I think Asamoah could do better at Rennes than Briand will at PSG. I mean if I had to make a bet on which would score more goals next year I'd take Asamoah assuming he does end up at Rennes. I made a mistake in my earlier post. I called him Gerald but this isnt the same guy this is one one that plays for Udinese.

What about Peguy Luyindula?
Have everybody forgotten about him or is he gone or something??

C'est pas brillant :p.

Briand will fail at PSG for sure. He can't score, his technical abilities are all about strenght. He's the perfect example of which kind of player PSG shouldn't sign. He'll be hated by all the fans and criticized by the media after missing 50 chances in a single match as he is always doing. It's not that he is inconsistent, he just can't score. Last but not least, he's overpriced. Rennes want more than 10 millon Euros for Briand. He worth the same price as Pauleta in 2003 ? Briand worth 5 million euros. There are plenty of working hard forwards.

L1's players transfer fee increased more than oil. Remy at Nice for 8 million Euros, Sessegnon at least 10 million Euros...

By the way, what does Le Guen want ? Briand and Hoarau as forwards ?Hoarau was only a L2 top scorer. Will he success in L1 ? Endure the pressure at PSG ? Nobody knows the answer. It's more than a risk to associate two unexperimented players like pas Brillant and Hoarau...That's PSG. Why am I not surprised ?

Le Guen doesn't want Diané anymore. Once again, I'm not surprised. He doesn't like Diané. I'll quote Ruud Van Nistelrooy : "Van Basten admitted his fault which is a quality that only a few coaches have". LG can't do it. Diané blamed his non-communication like Alonzo, Pauleta, Cayzac did before. Ima, that's a mistake and unless PSG attract a better player than Briand like Mirallas, Bratu we'll regret it. Just kidding :p.

Anyway, Basa, Makelele, Giuly, Sessegnon that's great but we'll see who'll really join PSG. Tiago, Giuly, Makelele are players that PSG fans can only see in dreams and Everton, Bourillon... are the players who wake us up. I'm sceptical. CC invested 2 million Euros (for real, unfortunately) during the previous summer, why would they inject 30 million Euros this time ? I have no faith in PSG actionnaires.

Edit : according to the media, LG doesn't want Luyindula anymore.

Makelele in the midfield? That would be great, but I'm not holding my breath.

Well, maybe I'm holding it just a little bit.

:)

I've also heard Aimar...

Gyan Asamoah has still got four years on his contract at Udinese and they siad they would not be selling him and he said he didnt want to leave only around a month ago so he wont be heading to Rennes and i would prefer Goufrann to Briand

Gouffran's already signed with Bordeaux, but regrettably I have to argue a bit with my buddy Nicolas again. :p

I don't think Briand will do badly at PSG, if he gets good service or if they play him as a roaming attacker, I think he'll significantly help the team. He's definitely better than Diané, he can be used in that type of position, too. Séssegnon at 10 million Euros is high, as he's not U-21, but I don't think 8 for a Rémy who did quite well in the bit he played is horrible.

In any event, the good thing for PSG this season it appears is that they are making some impact signings.

I dont blame them for getting Briand because there arent many decent players at that position that they can realistically get with such a small transfer envelope. Sinama-Pongolle
would be better but he's more expensive because he's a foreign based player.

Does Briand really have 118 apperances and (20) goals for Rennes ? If so then ouch !

I read today that Cristian Rodríguez has moved to Porto for €7M. Do we get that money or did we already sell him to Benfica last year?

In fact, Rodriguez and Kinder Bueno have the same agent therefore he has payed 3 million Euros to buy their contract at PSG. PSG earned 3 million Euros to release Rodriguez and Bueno. Those €7 million will go to his agent. He is the one who lent Rodriguez to Benfica. Porto own 70% of his contract now.

Rennes' president, Frédéric de Saint-Sernin, wants 12 million Euros for Briand. That's really expensive.

Gouffran's already signed with Bordeaux, but regrettably I have to argue a bit with my buddy Nicolas again:p.

:p It's nice to share different opinions.

You read that Makalele and Briand are close to signing but then a few days later you read that Makalele will sign a 1 year extension with Chelsea and that Rennes doesnt want to sell Briand.

No Transfer news to date. Hell the name of this thread is a joke considering the lack of action in the Mercato. I'm worried about who will be available to actually play. The first friendlies will take place on June 9 against GSI Pontivy (CFA) and a friendly against Chateroux (Ligue 2) on June 12. Camp opens June 30.

Ouef!!!!

It's not serious at all, RMC spreads senseless rumors everyday. I like Bodmer. However, if PSG fans believe in RMC rumors, they will cry by the end of august because of their disappointment.

There is an interview of Villeneuve in France Football today. PSG's budget will be about 75 million Euros according to CV himself.
