a word about baning from guy:

:) yes!

What a rich manpower you have! Now it's all up to Mr. Lacombe to implement his right tactic.
I'm thinking of a 4-3-1-2. It seems to be the only way to please every star player of yours.

Okay Diane is left but this is as far as I could get.

what about traore...

no, no frau in the starting xi. i'd prefer diane and pauleta in tandem w/ diane dropping back. baning is as mentioned very raw material at best and his potential based on "echos" will have to sit itself on the bench. rothen, cisse and dodo will be selected for the mid, with kalou in an advanced position (ideally). In defense, i like traore a lot so he gets the nod on the flank.

Oh come on. Frau is going to start for sure. You guys didn't pay € 5m to get a second half sub.

I cant image that Pauleta is that thrilled about playing with Diane and Frau. Im sure he was hoping for an international quality player.

probably not. but they're not poor either, especially diane - he can really explode next season if he doesn't get bitten by the complacency bug that lurks somewhere in the vestiaire.

Yes, yes, an international quality player.. why don't you just say his name? I bet you wanted him to join PSG. :D

The type of player I was talking about would be someone like John Dahl Tomasson, Milan Baros, or Djibril Cisse. Remember that Pauleta turned down Lyon to stay at PSG so he was probably promised better players that what he is getting.

djib always wanted to go to OM (i.e. look at his interviews) he's from the provence cote d'azur, so logically given the choice between OM and PSG, the former would most certainly prevail, as it has.
the other two are questionable, either they succeed as one would hope or they end up like the other big names that have gone to the parc and failed. I prefer someone who has something to prove, which characterizes the two fowards we signed. At the end of the day, it would've been nice to buy a big name player, but I like the route taken by the club this summer. It could very well blow up in everyone's face, but it also has a lot of potential to surprise.
(if anything, the big name should've gone to a new DM, who would be a reassuring presence and finally help the team play better all-around)

His supporting cast is better than last year! A Frau partnership means Pauleta isn't the only person who can score a goal and takes pressure off of him from the media.
It would have been great to see Kallstrom or Wilhemsson join to give more attack to the midfield, but as they still have Rothen, Dhorasoo and Kalou, thing can't be all that bad...if they produce.

^^Wilhemsson is the one player I regret the most.
He could have been very helpful, and Nantes made a great deal to get him.
But I'm optimistic about Diane and Rodriguez and the rest of the recruits.
I am rather concerned with Kalou and where to make him play.
Dorhassoo is another problem as well.

Kalou and Dhorasoo, they just can't get along well. Lacombe should probably get rid of the latter.

dhorasoo was misused last season but if lacombe realizes his true value to the team he can be great, consistently - he and kalou shouldn't be competing for the same spot as the former's defensive abilities are a huge asset to the squad. Playing him on the right is also a huge mistake as he's not pacey enough (anymore) to serve as a winger. center midfield is where he should play probably alongside cisse w/ baning coming on. dodo's got a great engine, and he can be the solution to our inability to hold onto the ball in midfield.

lol well yes, i'm not big on vikash for that very reason but despite last season's performances I wouldn't put it past him to step up - there's always that possibility that he can finally find some consistency and become an anchor and leader in the midfield

well the Badiane transfer has been done a while ago.
But now, we've got Ateba and mBami left... Ateba should go to either Troyes or Clermont Ferrand apparently.
But the problem is Modeste, what do we do with him?
Nobody wants him in the premiership, and now talks with Betis fell through, he wanted double what they proposed him. It seems he's gotten very greedy, but his past performances aren't up to par with what he wants.
In the end, he'll have to stay with us for 6 more months, I wonder if he'll finally move his butt and start playing, or he'll continue to be such a lazy ass
