yea i heard about that. It's a little strange considering Lacombe seems to be taken with him

 hmmmm so you are happier than us:) I knew very little about him but people in the forum that know him say that we had a good transfer...Maybe they're comparing him with our ex-poor DM Allioum Saidou that went to Nantes this summer...He was very bad also from my point of view and I also think that it doesn't matter who comes instead because he would probably be better than him:D

Besides that do you know that my club must also pay something to PSG or is he free??

well, if he leaves (please be true!!!) then i wish him the best in galatasaray and hopefully he'll put on good performances - consistently - for you guys. I don't think it'll be a free transfer though it doesn't seem like his contract is up, but I could be wrong.

looks like most of our transfers right now are about our defense, Traore is getting closer and closer, but on the other side it looks like both Mendy and Pichot are going to be shown the door from what i've heard.

The latter i'm ok with, the former...

Letizi's Ibrox move coming closer to fruition, says agent (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,377-2228231,00.html)

LIONEL LETIZI‘S agent is hopeful that a deal can be agreed with Rangers early next week. The 33-year-old goalkeeper has been targeted by Paul Le Guen, the new manager at Ibrox, as a possible replacement for Ronald Waterreus, who left in May after failing to agree terms on a new one-year deal.

Rangers will also be without Stefan Klos for the start of the season after he suffered a shoulder injury in a cycling accident last month.

Letizi is free to find a new club after falling down the pecking order at Paris Saint-Germain after the arrival of Mickael Landreau, France’s back-up goalkeeper.

Talks between the parties have been positive so far as Le Guen attempts to bolster the squad that he inherited from Alex McLeish for his first season at the Ibrox helm.

Letizi‘s agent, Eric Castagnino, is hopeful of having an answer by Tuesday. “We are still speaking and there should be news at the beginning of next week,” he said. “Lionel likes the club and he thinks the club likes him, so it looks good for everybody.”

Letizi is reported to be attracting strong interest from Nantes and Valenciennes, who are now in the top tier of French football, but Castagnino insists that Rangers are his first option and claims that he has no intention of opening talks with other clubs while discussions remain ongoing with the Scottish side.

“There is interest from other clubs but we are only speaking to Rangers,” he said. “Paul Le Guen is at Rangers, which is good. They are a big club and a good challenge for Lionel.”

Letizi‘s chances of moving to Ibrox have been boosted by Le Guen turning down the opportunity to sign Fabien Barthez, the France No 1. The 34-year-old, a free agent after quitting Marseilles, was offered to Le Guen.

Barthez’s agent, Jean-Marie Cantona, brother of Eric, said: “I know Paul Le Guen very well from his time in France and had a friendly discussion about the possibility of Fabien going to Rangers.

“I knew Paul wanted to change his goalkeeping position but he didn’t want to take on Fabien. He has other options and I respect that...”

I'd take Letizi over erratic Barthez as well...

he's a very average goalkeeper IMO, he doesn't make terrible blunders (i.e. Calamity James, Roy Carroll) but he's not magnificent and won't pull off a coupet once in a while. You guys are in Europe next year yes? If I were Rangers I would've gotten someone better.

That said, he's solid, but again, average (if that makes any sense)

Speaking of gks, can I just say again how pleased I am at getting Landreau? Best signing so far!

Amen. Barthez is way past his prime. You need a stable force between the pipes to build a solid defense.

Sammy Traore looks to be heading to PSG except for a financial complications between the two clubs. Nice are looking for 1.5 million euros, and PSG are proposing 1.1 million

PSG : Ça coince pour Traoré
Rédaction Football365 - mercredi 21 juin 2006 - 18h57
http://www.football365.fr/depeches/filinfo_122236_34_PSG-%C7a-coince-pour-Traore.shtml

follow up to that...

1)Cayzac has made Sammy his first priority.

2)We're still linked with Ricardo Costa (FC Porto)

3)Should Yepes leave, our first choice was Squillaci but as he is getting closer to Lyon, we're looking at BOUMSONG :( :(

4)PSG could also target Alou Diarra, which would be a great transfer to strengthen our midfield esp. with a release clause of 6 million euros

5)Ilan is still interested in coming to the parc, but as stated before the higher ups don't want sochaux making camp in the capital. Bordeaux and Monaco are also interested.

Well, at least PSG made at least 1 smart off-season move.

Got any Traore interviews or thoughts about his signing with PSG???

Looks like Le Guen is after Vikash. PSG are still in the hunt for Milan Baros as are AS Monaco. A Pauleta-Baros attack wouldnt be that bad.
