Because of plantar fasciitis I use orthotics in every other kinds of shoes I wear (including running and squash shoes), but they never feel right with soccer shoes.
Does anyone know if there are special orthotics for soccer shoes? Soccer shoes that are particularly stable or have motion-control built-in? Soccer shoes that are known to take orthotics well?
My feet and I thank you for your advice.

the adidas predator pulse or the aveiro. both shoes have are the same on the inside. i recomend that shoe to any of my customers that wear orthodics. they don't feel like they are about to pop out of the shoe.

AS,
Thanks so much for your informative response. Are you saying that these adidas shoes are a little deeper and wider, or is there something else about the shoes that would make them a good choice?
Thanks again!

these shoes are not wider but they are deeper. also, you can take out the insole. i would suggest getting a hardground bottom as well. much easier on the feet. we have them on sale. let me know if you need any more help. i have a terribly weak ankle and these shoes helped me alot.

Hey Rick,
I wore orthodics in my boots for a while and I found them to be pretty comfortable. However, I found the hard plastic wore on the shoes a lot more and I ended up getting large holes by the balls of my feet. Make sure your insoles are more narrow first and that they'll actually fit inside the shoe without warping the leather. Also, make VERY CERTAIN the insoles still fit you. If they don't, you could end up really messing up your ankle, like I did. My ankles have never been the same since. Also, the orthodics I had weren't really made for all the cutting and turns associated with soccer. They were made for more straight running and walking. Make sure your doctor approves of them before you start wearing them. Orthodics can be very helpful and a great asset...but if they don't fit you, you can seriously damage yourself.
