Agree everyone make mistakes but this clip plus a lot of plays by Hirsch similar situations has demonstrated that he's shaky on crosses.

Hirschfeld was shaky in both starts so far, and I've heard CFR's coach Ioan Andone is not happy at all with his performances, so I wouldn't be surprised if Hirschfeld will spend some time on the bench in the next few games.
Coming back to the previous discussion about the Romanian league... what seems really remarkable, in my opinion, is that the latest transfers of the big clubs not only improved the level of play, but also considerably increased the average attendance.
If you watched that stupid own-goal in the previous post, you might have noticed Steaua's stadium sold out, that's 26.000 fans. Many other games in these first 2 matchdays were also sold out. This is coming after a couple years ago the average league attendance was 4.800 fans / game (if I remember correctly).
Don't get me wrong, I am a Rapid fan, so I'm not supporting Steaua in any way, but I have to admit, the response of their fans after the team's improvement this winter has been outstanding.

actually the romanian league attendance is down 7% from last year to 5041
it has been dropping every year for a while:
07: 5 417
06: 5 629
05: 6 564
04: 7 237
steaua's attendance is also down 7% to 9 486...second in the league....cluj is up 50% to 8400
many games in the romanian top flight are played in front of 300-500 people.

Thus is the mystery of European football. I'm guessing TV money + sponsorships.

CFR invested heavily before this season with the idea of making it to the CL. They saw the opportunity for a big payday ahead, especially with the title winner getting to the group stage automatically. That's 13M euros more or less just for showing up.
They stayed under the radar in the 1st half of the season while the big Bucharest clubs were battling each other out. Now they have an insurmountable lead and their gamble is about to payoff. They are paying all their players well and they have a very good atmosphere at the club. A lot of the performance bonuses were structured around winning the title or finishing in that 2nd CL spot.
If they don't finish top top(highly unlikely now), this will be a huge blow to the club and ownership, think of what happened to Dortmund a few years back when they had Kohler, Rosicky & company before blowing it at the qualifying round.

Hey Chris, can you tell us more about Hirschfeld situation with Cluj? I can't find his name on recent gamesheet. Is he injured or just relegated to third keeper at the moment?
Thanks
